Who is PSYLOCKE?
PSYLOCKE is Elizabeth Braddock, the twin sister of Captain Britain, she is a mutant with telepathic and telekinetic powers. Her consciousness and power was switch into the body of Kwannon, a Hand Clan Ninja. In her new appearance she retained Kwannon's martial art skills, when combined with her own telepathic powers, PSYLOCKE can form her formidable weapon the Psi-Blade.
PSYLOCKE was created by writer Chris Claremont and artist Herb Trimpe, she first appeared in the UK comic book Captain Britain #8 (Dec. 1976), by the Marvel imprint Marvel UK. She was initially a supporting character in the adventures of her twin brother, Captain Britain, briefly substituting for him in the role.
Elizabeth "Betsy" Braddock was born in England. Raised in the small town of Maldon, Essex. She had a very privileged life. In one event she finds herself hostaged by the Red Skull but was freed by Captain Britain, whom she learned later was her twin Brother - Brian. Betsy then begins to develop precognitive and telepathic powers. She dyed her blonde hair purple and went into modelling but and was then recruited into S.T.R.I.K.E.'s Psi Division.
When Brian Braddock went overseas, Betsy to became the new Captain Britain, but this was shortlived because she was brutally beaten up by Slaymaster and Brian came back to rescue her. Later she would find herself on the X-Men mansion recovering from injuries not related to the Slaymaster beating. By this time the X-Mansion served as an infirmary after the event called "Mutant Massacre", Sabretooth who was part of the killings went to the mansion to continue his deeds. Betsy stalled Sabretooth until the X-Men returned and fend off the intruder. Betsy was then nominated into the X-Men fold.
Changing Appearances
Captain Britain
When she was substituting for Brian as Captain Britain, Betsy wore a modified version of the Captain Britain costume
X-Men Costume
When she was invited to join the X-Men she designed her own costume.
X-Men Costume 2
PSYLOCKE realizing that she is a liability in physical combats, replaced her loose clothing outfit with a specialized form of body armor.
Lady Mandarin
A device called Bodyshoppe switched PSYLOCKE's body with that of Hand Clan Ninja, Kwannon. Their bodies were switched but their minds were fused and they shared the same memories and shared half of PSYLOCKE's telepathic powers. Unfortunately at that time PSYLOCKE was amnesiac and does not recall much of her ordeal with the X-Men, so she continue on with the Hand Clan where she came to be known as Lady Mandarin.
X-Men Costume 3
When she finally recalled her past, she returned to the X-Men, wearing Lady Mandarin's basic "swimsuit" type costume. She no longer needs to wear armor as she is now a capable hand-to-hand combatant.
X-Men Costume 4
After the events of the X-Tinction Agenda, the X-Men regrouped, and started wearing the standard gold and blue X-uniforms to give them a team feeling.
Crimson Dawn
When Sabretooth gutted PSYLOCKE the only way to heal her was a magical liquid from the Crimson Dawn dimension. The liquid healed her and gave her the new ability to teleport through shadows, but also marked her with a red tattoo over her left eye.
X-Men Costume 5
The team yet again had re-designed costumes when most of them went with huge X across the chest motiff PSYLOCKE chose to just update her old costume and give it a more edgier look.
X-Treme X-Men
Later on the X-Men will break again into different groups, and PSYLOCKE was in Storm's X-Treme X-Men. She wore an entirely black outfit that echoes her classic ninja look.
Death of PSYLOCKE
On a mission in search of Destiny's diaries. PSYLOCKE met with the villain Vargas where she died in combat. Brian Braddock and Meggan collected PSYLOCKE's body from Spain. She was buried at the Braddock family estate and a memorial to her was erected at the X-Mansion by Beast.
Ressurected
Like many comicbook characters before her, PSYLOCKE once again returned to the land of the living, by a complex manipulation of his powerful mutant oldest brother. She returned to the X-Men and later wore a classic blue and gold outfit.
Exiles
PSYLOCKE then joined the Exiles a group of heroes that help mend broken realities. Eventually she became leader of the group.
X-Man Again

LIVE APPEARANCE
PSYLOCKE appeared as a villainess in the feature film X-Men: The Last Stand, played by actress Meiling Melançon. In the film, she fights against the X-Men as a member of The Omegas. In this version PSYLOCKE has the power to turn into shadows. PSYLOCKE is apparently killed alongside her teammates by Jean Grey's disintegration wave.
POWERS & ABILITIES
Note: Due to the nature of comicbooks being an on-going tale, the character's powers along with his appearance, is in a constant state of flux.
Telekinesis : Ability to psionically manipulate the physical aspects of reality. She can also move and levitate other people. While she can move objects from a distance and fly as other telekinetics do, she has shown little inclination to do either in combat situations. She can also create telekinetic shields of various sizes and strength and she can fire mental force blasts that can “shatter mountains.” Her telekinesis is also much stronger now than it was before her death.
Telekinetic Katana : PSYLOCKE can manifest a telekinetic katana blade composed of raw psi-energy, which at its lowest intensity, functions to disrupt neural pathways and sever the bonds between molecules, and at its highest level, her katanas can slice an armored opponent and cut through the armor, but leave the attacker physically unharmed. She can also use her swords to shatter telepathic power-inhibitors imposed on others. PSYLOCKE's telekinetic manifestations produce visible radiance in the physical world. Thus, she can use her psychic katana as a makeshift light source in areas of darkness.
Tactile Telekinesis: Uses her telekinesis to enhance her speed, strength, Agility and other fighting skills into super-human levels,
Telepathic Immunity: Immune to any form of others' telepathy–including telepathic attacks, probes or even attempts at communication.
Telepathy: High order telepath. She possesses vast mental powers to affect and manipulate the minds of other sentient beings.
Precognition: PSYLOCKE occasionally has precognitive dreams.
AbilitiesMaster Martial Artist: PSYLOCKE has been classified as a master martial artist, though the specific fighting arts she has mastered have never been revealed. PSYLOCKE is also very well versed in the use of all Ninja weapons, stealth methods, silent movement, infiltration, concealment, escape & evasion, covert methods, Ninja espionage, and Ninja acrobatics.
Master Telepathic Combatant: As a telepath, PSYLOCKE takes advantage of her powers in a fight by reading her opponents' movements seconds before they make them, giving her the opportunity to counter-attack faster, and she can also use her telepathy to mask her presence from other people, humans and super-humans alike. She also creates telepathic illusions to distract her enemies while fighting them and as a ninja, she uses her psychic knife to incapacitate her opponents without killing them.
Advanced Telekinetic Combatant: As a telekinetic, she often uses her powers to augment her strength and speed.

This is the 47th article in my Know Your CBM Character series. Any requests and suggestions for an article for this series write it down in the comment section BELOW.
Message to the CBM community:To those who are making requests, check first [here] because I might have done an article on the character already. If I have not please be patient, I will get on it as soon as possible (but consider the fact that I spend hours writing one of these articles). Try to limit your request to characters that already have been adapted to live media, so that the feature will at least be relevant to the site – Comic Book Movie(though I include TV characters). Characters in Manga or Anime’, I am not particularly familiar of, I am not discounting these characters but it will probably take some time before I write a feature on them because I have to read up on these characters. Thank you for reading these articles! If there are errors on the feature article above, blame it on my age, humanity and ignorance. Just be sure to check the comment section for the corrections, any error I made will surely be pointed out and corrected by much bigger geeks (because there will always be a bigger geek out there). -This has been PollMaster inviting you to the geekside. MABUHAY CBM and Godspeed!
Now for the supergeeks, identify who these character is and what is his connection to PSYLOCKE:
