The Real Top Five Villains of the Marvel Cinematic Universe

And they aren't who you think!

Did you like Iron Monger? I sure did. Did you love Loki and the Kingpin? Do you love Grant Ward? I do. Those are some of the best villains that the Marvel Cinematic Universe have had to offer and I always see them in toppas. However, they aren't in the actual top five. The truth is, that they aren't the Marvel Cinematic Universe's top five villains? Don't worry, this isn't a troll article because number one is not Malekith and number five is not Ronin.

5) Bryan Jay Singer

Ah yes, Bryan Singer. Not an outright villain, but a subliminal one. He's like that Bond Henchman who you find to be better than the actual villain of the movie. Or Galvatron in Transformers: Age of Extinction because Lockdown was a letdown. Now, why is Bryan Singer one of the greatest villains of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Well, partly because he is responsible for it. You see, Kevin Feige got his start due to Bryan Singer's X-Men and arguably according to many of you, when the time came for Feige to inherit the X-Men he could not. Why? Simply because Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past ended up being so amazing that the MCU's Quicksilver ended up being complete trash (albeit more enjoyable than Scarlet Witch). Singer is a villain to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but in the grand scheme of things he's like Crowley or Loki, a villain who does things so great for some reason you can't get rid of him.

4) Joshua Benjamin "Josh" Trank

Ah yes, Joshua Trank. Some of you may argue that he deserves to be higher on the list. However, I argue that it's too good for him. I argue that being #4, an irrelevent number in a toppa and generally a filler  is where he deserves! Not only did he take a property that the MCU probably could have honoured and make a movie about it, but he tried to advertise it via gynecomastia! Totally ruining a property that would have enhanced the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Josh Trank is one of the greatest villains I've seen so far.

3) Isaac "Ike" Perlmutter

Like Max von Sydow's Director Lamar Burgess, Ike Perlmutter is a horribly flawed man with good intentions. Mirroring the story of Two-Face, who rescued Gotham City only to be swept up in the villainy... Ike Perlmutter rescued Marvel Comics only to let it fall into the hands of Bendis and create a colossal divide in the entertainment division. I have no doubt that this man wants what is best for Marvel Comics, but I also have no doubt that he is willing to screw Marvel Comics over and over and over again to make his now flawed vision seem great. Examples of Perlmutter's unfortunate fall include attempting to scale down Captain America: Civil War and saying all black people look the same. Being black myself I could easily say the same thing about weasels, as that is what Perlmutter has become.

2) Creative Committee

Perhaps you could see this as an extension of the previous villain? Perhaps I am cheating here because there are more than one villain? Alas, these are several minor villains led by a B-level villain ultimately forming a combined threat the level of Grant Ward's Hydra. Ultimately this is one villainous team that has been defeated. While this group may have included Kevin Feige, he ultimately chafed under it. Why did he chafe? Due to prime perpetrator Alan Fine, a ridiculous loser who had to get his main soldiers Joe Quesada and Brian Michael Bendis to fight battles for him. This group may have caused some of the biggest mishaps in the MCU, probably Iron Man II! This is like all the members of the Wu Tang Clan you didn't care for! Oh, and Dan Buckley is in the group but he's a D-level villain remembered for this purpose and hence is not important. However, put Fine, Quesada and Bendis together (with Buckley) and you get a villainous force to be reckoned with!

1) Avi Arad

Who else could it be? Can you find me anybody else? Almost mirroring the story of Ra's al Ghul from Batman Begins. It was Arad who helped Feige become what he was. Yet, when Feige decided he did not want to ruin films with amazing potential like Spider-Man 3 or overall shitty movies like Ghost Rider he turned on Arad. Ever since Arad has become a villainous force to be reckoned with! To ruining all value of Ghost Rider to a point worse than what Trank did to Fantastic Four twice, he nearly did the same thing to Spider-Man. Alas the higher powers intervened and like the Spectre casting judgment, Arad was given limitations and no longer could he use his lazarus touch (which has the effect of ruining movies) to ruin movies. Although there is no doubt he will attempt to strike back during the MCU Spider-Man, we can all take solace in the fact that this threat is a mere shadow of what he once was.

So tell me, do you agree with my list or who is your toppa for the MCU?

I would have added Mark Steven Johnson before Bryan Singer.
Every comic book movie he's made sucked.

Yep Lauren Shuller Donner should have been in it.

And Joss Whedon for trying to shove that cringe-worthy comedy unto us in Age of Ultron. He's on some two-face thing right here (Avengers 1 was great)

Ike Permultter is a HERO though
