The new UItimate Universe was created when a diabolical genius known as The Maker created his ideal Earth by systematically preventing anyone from ever becoming a superhero. To rule his perfected reality, he placed supervillains in charge of different regions, and together, The Maker's Council orchestrated the history of the world.
When Tony Stark discovered its true history, the Maker's Council perpetrated a terrible attack on New York City in Stark's name.
As we see in the opening pages of today's Ultimate Spider-Man #5, two of the victims of the attack were Norman Osborn, C.E.O. of Oscorp, and his wife, Emily.
The issue then moves to the immediate aftermath of that, with Harry learning he's inherited his father's empire. He's summoned by Wilson Fisk, with the villain revealing he's been named the Shadow Governor of the greater New York territory and Manhattan's "Kingpin."
What remains of Stark's company could be a problem, so he sells it to Harry. Alongside his wife Gwen and Oscorp employee Otto Octavius, the billionaire discovers Iron Man's armoury and Howard Stark's secret files on how The Maker reshaped reality.
Now aware of how the world was really made, Harry tasks Otto with making his Green Goblin suit so he can fight back against both Kingpin and the Maker's Council. He also discovers that over 100 pieces of Stark Tech have been activated across America, suggesting Peter Parker wasn't the only one given the chance to fulfil his destiny when Iron Lad vanished.
The Goblin later learns that Tony is still alive and we then see the moment Peter and Harry agree to fight back and make the world whole again.
However, while he hasn't taken the Goblin Serum which drove his Earth-616 counterpart insane, Harry definitely has a darker side. That's evident from the fact he's been torturing Bullseye for information and, as the issue wraps up, Harry poses a big question:
"Am I a hero...or something else? I guess we're about to find out."
