The long awaited re-release of Miracleman is finally here! Marvel has released a new featurette in which  Joe Quesada, Neil Gaiman (Sandman,) and Axel Alonso discuss the importance of Miracleman, Check it out!

KIMOTA! With one magic word, a long-forgotten legend lives again! Freelance reporter Michael Moran always knew he was meant for something more-now, an unexpected series of events leads him to reclaim his destiny as Miracleman! The groundbreaking graphic novel that heralded a literary revolution begins here in A DREAM OF FLYING. After nearly two decades away, Miracleman uncovers his origins and their connection to the British military's "Project Zarathustra" - while his alter ego, Michael Moran, must reconcile his life as the lesser half of a god. Available digitally and in print wherever comics and books are sold.

Miracleman has been a high profile project for Marvel, not only due to the characters importance (being credited as being one the first attempts at grounding comic book superheroes) but also due to decades of legal battles to determine the ownership of the character.

In the last couple of months Marvel’s commitment to try an elevate the profile of the character has been pretty evident as it was reported by Bleedingcool that not only a trailer promoting the re-release was seen over memorial day weekend in selected theaters but also an ad was  purchased in the new York times (image seen on the right.)

This move has also created speculation that Marvel is trying to expose general audiences to Miracleman due to plans to include the character within their cinematic universe. This is
unfounded of course,  but perhaps the "twins" (Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch) will be referred to as “Miracles” in Avengers: Age of Ultron for a reason.

Miracleman Book One: A Dream Of Flying is now available in print and digital wherever books are sold.

As always leave your thoughts down below and thank you for reading.

I think that's the idea, I think Gaiman still has to finish the run he started 20 years ago, but I'd like to them incorporate Miracleman the same way they incorporated the Sentry.

@bluedude- He is an old character, but he is kind of been on limbo since the 80s after the publisher that owned the rights went bankrupt.

@bluedude-Yeah, he is kind of like Shazam in powers, but what makes it stand out is the more mature writing.

@Nomis Agreed :)

@Nomis- That's pretty great insight, specially when you keep in mind that the mid 80's and writers like Moore, Gaiman and Miller were in the forefront of the superhero deconstruction movement.

I really hope they DON'T include him in the Marvel Universe, and much less take it to the big screen. PLEASE MARVEL, DON'T.

@Nomis I totally agree with you. After Alan Moore finished his part, I lost interest in Miracleman. I'm not saying that what Gaiman wrote was bad, I just think that I'd have been happy if the series ended in issue #16.

Not interested in this character. AT ALL. I really hope they don't try to force feed him to us.

huge fan of this title, everyone should be reading this.as for a movie of course i'd love to see a movie but i think it'll be toned down too much from the comics original vision & that would be a crime.

We'll see a Marvelman movie before a Shazam movie, and the "regular folks" will claim DC ripped off Marvel. Then we geeks will have to try explain the situation.

Meanwhile in Northampton, Alan Moore's ulcer acts up.

See. Immedialtely someone is saying he should be in the Marvel universe..
F.uck no. He is infinitely more interesting and threatening if he is in his own universe.

Please don't water MM down and put it in the Marvel Universe.
