X-MEN Villain Cassandra Nova To Make Her Shocking Return In The Pages Of March's MARAUDERS #1

Marvel Comics recently teased a mystery final member of the new Marauders team ahead of the title's relaunch next March, but we definitely didn't see this coming! With a new creative team - writer Steve Orlando and artist Eleonara Carlini - this new era will see the villainous Cassandra Nova join the crew!

The twisted twin sister of Professor Xavier, Cassandra was introduced during Grant Morrison's revolutionary early 2000s run on New X-Men where she orchestrated the deadliest crime in mutantkind history when she unleashed a massive Sentinel on Genosha and killed millions. Later, she was part of a plan that culminated in Kate Pryde spending years floating through space alone.

Now, though, the Marauders need her help to untangle a mystery rooted in the earliest days of mutantkind. Do they dare trust her? Based on past experience, something tells us they really shouldn't!

"Cassandra Nova Xavier is back, with the same malicious mind and murderous hands as ever," Orlando reveals. "But how much has she changed since her last run in with the X-Men? Pryde and the Marauders have no choice but to find out, since Cassandra's only one who can lead them to mutantkind's earliest ancestors - a mystery two billion years old. She's little bit Xavier, a little bit Catherine Trammel, and the Marauders' only hope for success."

You can see Cassandra suiting up in an all-new variant cover by Carlini and find out if she’s really changed her ways when Marauders #1 hits stands on March 30. However, don’t miss the opening adventure of Steve Orlando’s run in Marauders Annual #1 on January 12 for a taste of what's to come.

@dragon316 - Not new per se dragon, but it's a refreshing change of pace. It seems no stone is being left unturned in terms of in terms of mutuants for the current storylines. I think she would make a great movie villain as a foil to Xavier, but she's not as well known as Magneto, Phoenix, or Apocalypse. I'm curious to see if they make Magneto a "good guy" this go round when the films are rebooted in the MCU. I could see that and Sinister being the villain. I'm not a fan of the Cranston casting though, he's too old. You have to think of him in terms of a character like Orochimaru from Naruto. Hella old, but tinkers with his DNA so much he appears much younger than he should. In Boruto you could argue he's even younger looking than Shippuden. Just my thoughts though

"Cassandra Nova Xavier is back, with the same malicious mind and murderous hands as ever,"

That's unfortunate considering in X-Men:Red, Jean Grey was able to expose Cassandra to her empathy for the first time awhich led to Cassandra being actually able to feel remorse for all the horrible actions she had done, which I thought was a great move for her character development; they better have a good reason for reversing all that smh.

I hope Cassandra debuts in the MCU. She may be a prisoner in the dungeons of Xavier's mind palace. Cassandra is a residue and Xavier hides the existence of her.

Cassandra may look like this in Xavier's mind.

When Cassandra controls Xavier's body, she causes disasters.

I really love Hickman's saga of House of X series.

My favorite are Marauders, but I'm afraid of Hickan's and Gerry Duggan's departure.

But man the idea of Krakoa and ALL mutants (villains and heroes) uniting, the team who came with that idea deserves respect.

I'd be glad if MCU movies included this political view on mutants, seeing the Quiet council, (especially Xavier walking) is a really bold idea, but I love it.
