"Renegade occultist John Constantine (Keanu Reeves), who has literally been to hell and back, teams up with skeptical policewoman Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) to solve the mysterious suicide of her twin sister. Their investigation takes them through the world of demons and angels that exists just beneath the landscape of contemporary Los Angeles. Based on the DC-Vertigo comic book Hellblazer."
Meanwhile, another Vertigo property – Books of Magic (which predated the copycat Harry Potter) – may become a movie now that Swedish directors Simon Sandquist and Joel Bergvall have signed on to helm the pic, says The Hollywood Reporter.
"The comic, about a bespectacled teenager learning magic in contemporary London, is seen as a precursor to Harry Potter," the trade said, kindly.
