At the end of this year´s New York Comic Con the company in charge of the event, ReedPop, reported a total of 151,000 tickets sold for the event. Compared to SDCC´s attendance of 130,000 people, that´s a difference of 21,000 tickets sold, meaning that NYCC is now the biggest pop culture event in North America.

Last year´s event had a capacity problem at the Javitz Center limiting its attendance to 133,000 people but this year ReedPop fixed that by adding one day more to the convention, starting on Thursday instead of Friday. This allowed them to increase the number of tickets sold.

The next New York Comic Con has been announced for October 8-11, 2015

Hope this gives SDCC the necessary kick in the pants to expand, or move. Bring it up to to LA already!

SDCC is better. I've gone 2 years in a row. There is nothing like it. The atmosphere the environment in beautiful San Diego. Salt Lake and New York Comic Cons can suck it! The only reason New York sold more tickets is because they have a bigger capacity compared to the Convention Center in San Diego. Only reason

I think all the big announcements are in SDCC because it is early. At this time every big movie has been released and is too soon to give something about next year summer movies

NYCC won last year too, but some people decided to call it even because the difference was just 3,000 people.

It is in the comicbook article but I didn't want to put it, it felt like it would be exactly the same article. I tried to change it a little but it's not like it has a lot of information.
