Cyborg didn't exactly steal the show in Justice League and it's been a long time since we've heard anything solid about plans for the character's solo movie. Ray Fisher and Joe Morton seem to believe it's going to happen, though, and the latter has revealed in a new interview that it's still on the cards.
Asked about the status of the spinoff, the actor who plays Victor's father Dr. Silas Stone indicated that Cyborg will be an origin story, a strange decision given that we pretty much know that already.
"From what I understand, there will be a Cyborg movie," Morton confirmed. "It will be about him and I, and about the family that he came from, how he becomes the Cyborg, et cetera. But from whence he came, as well." We know that much of the character's origin story ended up on the cutting room floor but do we really need to spend two hours revisiting that when it's been mostly covered.
The most interesting thing here is Morton's mention of "from whence [Cyborg] came." Could that be a reference to the history of the Mother Boxes on Apokolips? That would open the door to the arrival of any number of villains and the hero might even use a Boom Tube to travel there. Honestly, though, that feels like wishful thinking and it still seems hard to believe that Cyborg is ever going to happen.
