DEADPOOL 2: Kerry Washington Responds To The Rumor That She's In The Running For The Role Of Domino
Following the recent rumor that Kerry Washinton was being eyed for the role of Domino in Fox's Deadpool sequel, the Scandal actress was quizzed about it at the Writers Guild Awards this past weekend...
Along with a Domino character breakdown, we recently got word that Kerry Washington was set to test for the role of the fortune-favored mercenary in 20th century Fox's planned Deadpool sequel. The report claimed that Washington was the studio's top choice after both Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Sienna Miller passed, but we haven't heard anything on that since.
However, Extra TV caught up with Washington at the 2017 Writers Guild Awards to ask her about the Deadpool 2 rumors, and while she refused to confirm or deny, her response does indicate that there might be some truth to them. Washington also admitted that she would be interested if offered the part.
“I don’t have anything to say about that. Of course I would, but of course you have to get the right person for whatever role.”
Obviously this is not a whole lot to go on, but it's worth noting that when there's zero truth to these type of reports, actors will almost always take the opportunity to put them to bed.
At any rate, if Deadpool 2 really is set to commence production on May 1st (as is rumored), official casting announcements for Domino and Cable shouldn't be too far off.
