DEADPOOL 2: THE SUPER DUPER CUT Teases Hugh Jackman's Return As Wolverine In X-FORCE

Last night, fans at Comic-Con were treated to all the additional scenes which will be included in the Deadpool 2 extended cut and one of them pointed to the eventual return of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine...

When Deadpool 2 is released on Blu-ray later this year, fans will be able to get their hands on a "Super Duper Cut" which includes roughly 15 minutes of additional footage. At Comic-Con yesterday evening, fans were treated to a first look at that and one scene, in particular, was changed to potentially open the door to Hugh Jackman's return as Wolverine (possibly as soon as that planned X-Force spinoff).

In an extended version of one of the sequel's after-credits scenes, the Merc with the Mouth still guns down Weapon XI but rather than just telling Logan that he loves him, he says: "One day your old pal Wade's gonna ask you to get back in the saddle again. When he does, say yes." So, does this mean the door has now been opened for the Australian actor to put those claws back on as part of X-Force?

It's a nice thought but probably just as unlikely as it was the last time the subject came up. During a Q&A, Reynolds even said as much and this has probably only been included in the extended cut because Fox didn't want to get the hopes up of fans in the
theater. Throw in that Disney/Fox merger and there's a very good chance that X-Force may not even be released. As always, though, stay tuned.

As I said they should have done in this movie, bring Hugh Jackman in as a semi-love interest for Deadpool. Just someone he sees on the bus or on the day to day and he just happens to find him cute. He doesn't even have to have any lines.

@MosquitoFarmer - What the needed was just some off shoot scene where Jackman was performing in an X-men musical. So the guy known as wolverine could play the role of wolverine but as Hugh Jackman the performer. It just dances around everything perfectly. Could even have had him in yellow spandex.

I'd love a Hugh Jackman cameo but not as Wolverine. Blur the lines of Deadpool's perception of reality even more, and have him go on a side mission to recruit Wolverine and have him abduct Hugh Jackman thinking he actually is Wolverine.

@AC1 - This would be hilarious

There is NO WAY Hugh is coming back as Logan/Wolverine, and i'm glad.

The ONLY scenario where i'd be ok (actually...it's something i want to see :P) it's when we have MS's X-Men and they meet another versions of X-Men from a parallel Earth and SBAM: Huge Jackman as Logan baby! :D

This also applies for the resto of the FoX-Men in case (mhe) MS will recast Magneto and Xavier...cause...i really want at least Fassbender and McAvoy! :(

@Doomsday8888 - I would not mind an x23 film where she hallucinates him in full costume.

@doomsday619 - Lol I don't know about this one. I love all of Groening's work, but that plot seems strange.

Logan was a terrific send-off for Jackman’s Wolverine. I don’t want them to undo that ending. Also I don’t want Jackman to starve himself so he can play Wolverine again. I follow the guy on social media, and after Logan came out he was so happy because he could finally eat pizza and pasta again. The guy ate nothing but boiled chicken and protein shakes for 20 years.

And one last thing: Jackman’s turning 50 this year, and he looks it. He looks great for a 50-year old, but doesn’t look much like he did in 2000 and 2003. I say just let his Wolverine stay dead, and in 5 years cast a new guy and put him in a mask.

@santoanderson
He was (is) a very dedicated actor, no doubt about that.

Yeah, very true.

@santoanderson - There's part of me that thinks age isn't even going to be an issue soon. They're just gonna digitally de-age everyone so they can play the characters forever.

I hope they don't bring this Wolverine back. Not just because Logan was such a beautiful send off to this version of the character, but because chances are that the Deadpool and X-Force movies may be transferred from FOX's X-Men franchise to the MCU now and a new version of Wolverine will come soon from that franchise. However, the MCU's Wolverine could be introduced in the X-Force movie.

This was all done before Disney became Deadpool's new overlord.
