DEADPOOL 2 Won't Be Among The Movies Getting A Super Bowl TV Spot Later Tonight

We still don't have a confirmed list of movies getting a Super Bowl TV spot tonight but it's now been confirmed that Deadpool 2 won't actually be among them. Hit the jump for everything we know so far...

We're expecting quite a few TV spots tonight during the Super Bowl, including Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Mission: Impossible - Fallout, and Westworld. Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther are also among the possibilities but what about Deadpool 2? We still haven't seen a full trailer for the sequel and while we know that's on the way, it won't be premiering later based on the Tweet below.

As you can see, Deadpool 2 co-writer Rhett Reese has confirmed that we won't be getting one but it sounds like something will follow in the next couple of weeks. That's been expected for a while and it's about time the marketing campaign kicks off especially as the sequel is now being released in May!

It was recently reported that the trailer will hit on Valentine's Day and that Cable will receive a significant role there. We'll have to wait and see whether or not that proves to be the case but it would make a lot of sense. What are you guys hoping to see debut tonight? Share your thoughts below.

I live in France and even I know a 30 sec Superbowl ad is 5 million $. Depending on Deadpool 2's budget, they might have decided to put that sum somewhere else.I doubt they could have gone with the tone they really wanted.

Oh well.. RR’s been doing some pretty good PR so far but of course we’d like to see a trailer.

And not a teaser trailer teaser! A proper proper trailer or else!!

What the first film's success proved was that the Deadpool team doesn't need to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on marketing to make money. I don't see a reason why they would do so for Deadpool 2. After all, plenty of people will get to see a full trailer with Black Panther, currently tracking for record breaking opening.

Aren’t Super Bowl movie trailers just 30 second teasers for longer trailers on YouTube?

I worry that te film's novelty will wear off really soon. I loved the first, it was a blast but it's hard to replicate that. Comedy sequels don't tend to fair well.

I'm really stoked for Brolin's Cable though.
