New DEADPOOL And X-MEN Funko Pops Are Based On The Merc's Upcoming Sequel...Sort Of
Funko has unveiled a new range of Deadpool and X-Men Pops and while you might think that these are based on the Merc with the Mouth's upcoming sequel, licensing issues have made the company get creative.
This May, Deadpool 2 blasts into theaters and it could very well be the final appearance Ryan Reynolds' Wade Wilson makes in Fox's X-Men Universe. Assuming the Disney/Fox deal moves forward, Ryan Reynolds could reprise the role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but there's no guarantee and in the meantime, these characters remain in the doghouse thanks to Marvel CEO Isaac Perlmutter.
Because he doesn't want to promote the movie characters not owned by Marvel, we'll see little to no merchandise for Deadpool 2 do the rounds and that's led to Funko getting creative with these Pops.
As you can see by clicking through the gallery below, Funko is releasing Pops for characters like Cable, Domino, and Negasonic Teenage Warhead but they're based on comic book versions of the characters who sort of look like the ones we're going to see on the big screen. There's even a Pop featuring Deadpool on a red scooter, a scene we know is actually going to make it into the upcoming sequel.
What do you guys think of these new Pops? As always, be sure to share your thoughts down below.
