Josh Brolin Says DEADPOOL 2 Features Way More Action Than The First Movie
Deadpool was an action-packed movie but star Josh Brolin has now revealed that we can expect to see even more action in the highly anticipated sequel which will throw both Cable and Domino into the mix.
Deadpool featured a lot of great fight scenes courtesy of director Tim Miller but those weren't enough apparently! In a new interview, Deadpool 2 star Josh Brolin has revealed that the studio has increased the amount of action and the actor has nothing but good things to say about helmer David Leitch.
It also sounds like the Avengers: Infinity War star took quite a beating on set while playing Cable!
I had heard somewhere along the line, and I think it’s okay for me to say this, but I heard somewhere along the line that they felt the first Deadpool didn’t have enough action. […] With this movie, it’s just a different deal. He embraces what he’s very good at, which I think is very smart. There’s ton of action in it. The tease is, a guy who’s 49 years old on the cusp of 50 who got in the best shape of his life, especially exteriorly, and I was extremely disciplined throughout that whole thing. I got beat to shit on that movie. That’s all I know. I had stuntmen throwing me all over the place.
It's ironic that Fox felt Deadpool didn't have enough action as the studio actually slashed the movie's budget and cut two major action sequences right as production was beginning. Now that the origin story is out of the way and the sequel has more money to play with, it makes sense that action scenes are being increased in the follow-up and the addition of characters like Cable and Domino will help.
Are you excited to see Cable in action in Deadpool 2? The character is expected to then make the leap to X-Force and then a third Deadpool movie so it's clear that Fox has big plans for him and seeing both the Merc with the Mouth and this time-travelling mutant fighting side by side promises to be great fun.
