LOGAN Director James Mangold And DEADPOOL Star Debunk Cameo Rumors As "Fake News"
Not keen on the idea of the Merc with the Mouth showing up in the super serious looking Logan? Well, both director James Mangold and star Ryan Reynolds have completely debunked The Wrap's big "scoop."
If you were getting excited about the prospect of a Deadpool/Wolverine team-up in Logan (even if it's just an after-credits scene), then it's time to put the brakes on that! As you can see below, both director James Mangold and Ryan Reynolds have taken to Twitter to debunk reports that the Merc with the Mouth will show up in any capacity, with the filmmaker calling out The Wrap and "fake news."
It's no secret that it's the least respected of the four trades - because of stuff like this - but they're not known for dropping unreliable scoops. However, the fact that these two have so strongly denied the reports definitely points to it being incorrect information. After all, Mangold would look like a complete fool calling The Wrap "the show biz Breitbart" is Deadpool were to show up in Logan this March!
Perhaps Reynolds did indeed shoot something for Deadpool 2 with new director David Leitch recently, but it clearly wasn't for Deadpool! The trade has yet to respond, but even Hugh Jackman has now weighed in, so stay tuned for any updates. Are you disappointed the cameo isn't going to happen?
NOTE: That third Tweet from Mangold is in response to a parody account, but his message is still clear!
