Ryan Reynolds Wants DEADPOOL To Crossover With THE AVENGERS...But He Wants The Film To Be R-Rated

The likelihood of 20th Century Fox agreeing to a Spider-Man-like crossover with Marvel Studios are slim to none but that doesn't mean Ryan Reynolds doesn't have any ideas for how he'd approach it.

Would Ryan Reynolds like to see Deadpool crossover with The Avengers? Absolutely?

That sounds like a great idea but a very expensive idea,” said Reynolds to Total Film Magazine.  He added,  “Can you imagine the s**t-talking contest with Iron Man? Oh, that would be great. But it would have to be rated R to completely unharness everybody. Unbridle the merriment and watch them go…

There's also the issue of the jarringly different tones in both film franchises, which would require Deadpool to be toned down or The Avengers to be ratcheted up. However, this isn't a concept completely unfamiliar to comic book readers as Deadpool's interactions with other superheroes in the pages of Marvel Comics often results in plenty of thresholds being crossed and buttons being pushed. Plus, who wouldn't want to see Wade Wilson break the fourth-wall and refer to Cap as Chris or Iron Man as Robert?

Then again, the superhero team that Deadpool needs to interact with first is already under the Fox
umbrella.  Hopefully, Deadpool knocks on the X-Mansion's front door one day and there's more than just 2 X-Men home.

See my take would be that id keep him PG-13 but just bleep him out and blur his mouth like in Scott Pilgrim and then have him break the fourth wall and acknowledge it and make fun of it being a Disney movie. You can keep the tone of both franchises without compromising either by doing it that way

@Ha1frican - That would be 100% fantastic and the best way to make the movie happen and also as you said keep the tone of both. I was literally thinking the exact same thing and then I scrolled down and saw your post.

Or deadpool could just pop up in avengers and say f*ck movie rights!

@malsemarcel - Hell no. Avengers is PG-13. I would hate for the tone to all of a sudden change for the sake of Deadpool.

If Deadpool wants an R-Rated crossover have him crossover with The Punisher.

@SonOfAGif - No that literally happened when I watched Avengers at home. It was the strangest thing. He just popped in, said "f#$k movie rights", then helped the team take on the aliens. I tried to see if I got a special version but anytime I paused, Deadpool would stand in the middle of the screen telling me how lame I was for reading the box instead of watching the movie. It only happened that one time. But Deadpool won't leave my screen even when it's off. It's weird.

Garbage idea. I think the real fight between him and RDJ would be over who gets more screen time and more royalties.

Eh?

Just have Deadpool drop the F bomb and have a large explosion go off, everytime he swears theres a loud noise and he realizes and breaks the fourth wall and makes a joke about Disney censoring him, it would be hilarious.

God I want him in the MCU... imagine him interacting with Daredevil and Spider-man, or Iron Man and Rocket Raccoon. If they made a deal they wouldnt even have to recast bc they could just make him aware of the rights issue and have him just reference the movies and have them be movies people in the MCU watch or that they are just stories he made up or something hes so unattached to his own reality he could just walk between franchises

@Ha1frican - Absolutely disagree. He would ruin the movie. His whole thing is that he breaks the 4th wall. If he did that in any movie other than his own, it would completely ruin the movie experience. It would be funny to a few people and completely ruin it for everyone else.

@benjithegreat - Except it completely works in the comics... People i universe just think hes a crazy person that heres voices and thats why he talks to himself when hes talking to the audience. You could have him talking directly into camera and then cut behind him to the in-universe characters perspective and they just see him talking into thin air and look at him like hes insane. Also he literally does that in his onw universe where he is the only one aware that things arent real and it doesnt ruin the drama or character motivations in that world so that doesnt really make any sense
