Ryan Reynolds Wants DEADPOOL To Crossover With THE AVENGERS...But He Wants The Film To Be R-Rated
The likelihood of 20th Century Fox agreeing to a Spider-Man-like crossover with Marvel Studios are slim to none but that doesn't mean Ryan Reynolds doesn't have any ideas for how he'd approach it.
Would Ryan Reynolds like to see Deadpool crossover with The Avengers? Absolutely?
“That sounds like a great idea but a very expensive idea,” said Reynolds to Total Film Magazine. He added, “Can you imagine the s**t-talking contest with Iron Man? Oh, that would be great. But it would have to be rated R to completely unharness everybody. Unbridle the merriment and watch them go…”
There's also the issue of the jarringly different tones in both film franchises, which would require Deadpool to be toned down or The Avengers to be ratcheted up. However, this isn't a concept completely unfamiliar to comic book readers as Deadpool's interactions with other superheroes in the pages of Marvel Comics often results in plenty of thresholds being crossed and buttons being pushed. Plus, who wouldn't want to see Wade Wilson break the fourth-wall and refer to Cap as Chris or Iron Man as Robert?
Then again, the superhero team that Deadpool needs to interact with first is already under the Fox umbrella. Hopefully, Deadpool knocks on the X-Mansion's front door one day and there's more than just 2 X-Men home.
