Ryan Reynolds Weighs In On Who Would Win Between His Two Titular Characters - DEADPOOL And DETECTIVE PIKACHU

If an actor plays multiple comic book roles they usually don't take sides on who would win in interviews, but it looks like Ryan Reynolds isn't quite so reserved! Read on to get his take on this match-up!

Usually when actors wind up playing a role in a nerdy or comic book film, they wind up playing in multiple. Take Ryan Reynolds for example, who had appearances in Blade: Trinity, Green Lantern, and Wolverine: Origins before finding success with Deadpool and Detective Pikachu.

When asked who he thought would have the upper hand in a battle between his two titular characters, Ryan Reynolds wasn't shy about playing favorites, as he had the following to say.

“Between Deadpool and Pikachu..that’s a tough one. I kind of feel like Pikachu might. Even though he doesn’t swear, he’s very powerful. He can create some actual real superpowers whereas Deadpool is just mostly sarcastic.”

While the electric mouse and the merc with a mouth aren't in universes that are anywhere near each other or will ever likely find a way to crossover, it's fun for fans to talk about these kinds of things and it's really great that Reynolds has enough fun with his role that he can share in the experience of theorizing with fans rather than shutting down imaginations.

Who do you think would win in a fight between these two iconic characters? Check out the trailer for Detective Pikachu below!

The story begins when ace private eye Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry’s former Pokémon partner, Detective Pikachu: a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who is a puzzlement even to himself. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to communicate with one another, Tim and Pikachu join forces on a thrilling adventure to unravel the tangled mystery. Chasing clues together through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City—a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world—they encounter a diverse cast of Pokémon characters and uncover a shocking plot that could destroy this peaceful co-existence and threaten the whole Pokémon universe.
