Who could it be?

Recently, there have been a lot of people here reviewing the leaked Deadpool script written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Well, I decided to give it a look as well and IT IS AWESOME!! Now, I thought of all those action scenes and how they would be. I realized that the director of the movie NEEDS to be an ace at crazy action. Well, here are a few choices that I believe can pull it off:

QUENTIN TARANTINO

Now, this is the guy all Deadpool fans want to direct. He really is the epitome of a Deadpool director. He is known for directing crazy action and is known for hilarious dialouge. His Deadpool movie would be awesome.

Films directed:
Pulp Fiction
Jackie Brown
Kill Bill

ROBERT RODRIGUEZ

He's the one that has been contracted by Fox to direct the film. Now he is extremely busy and that could mean that Fox would have to wait for his schedule to clear up. Well, if that's the case then Fox should just get another director so there won't be anymore delays.

Films directed:
Machete
Sin City
Spy Kids

JAMES MANGOLD

Just by watching the previews for "Knight and Day," you could see that this guy directs crazy action. I didn't see the movie myself. I heard that the action was a little insane. That's what this movie needs.

Films directed:
Walk the Line
Knight and Day
3:10 to Yuma

DAVID FINCHER

This guy is a very dark and gritty director. Who better to direct the dark, gritty, and hilarious Deadpool?

Films directed:
Zodiac
The Social Network
Se7en

JOE CARNAHAN

Carnahan did "The A-Team" with Fox and is known for his many action flicks. He even teamed up with Reynolds on "Smokin' Aces." It could happen.

Films directed:
Smokin Aces
Narc
The A-Team

JOHN WOO

Who wouldn't want this guy to direct Deadpool?! He's the definitive action director. Just watch "Hard Boiled" and you'll know.

Films directed:
Mission Impossible II
Hard Boiled
Face/Off

MICHAEL DAVIS

Davis is really just known for directing "Shoot Em Up." He's directed a few small dramas, this was really his biggest picture. I really like "Shoot Em Up." It wasn't perfect, but I think it was fun and I'd like to see what Davis would do with Deadpool.

Well, that's who my choices are. Tell me what you think in the comments below. ;)

Tarantino is doubtful, i remember seeing a interview in Wizard where he stated he'd never direct a comic book movie, Rodriguez is almost certainly NO since he's doing Spy Kids 4 and right after that Sin City 2. Same with David Fincher, doubtful as well. Great list, any one of these directors could possible get me interested in the character

ROBERT RODRIGUEZ
is the best choice but he has A LOT of stuff lined up
what about Edgar Wright?
yeah the guy who did scott pilgrim
it would be a drastiv departure from what he's doing now but it could work

@secretasianboy Wright started off with Shawn of the Dead and Hot Fuzz two hilarious and bloody comedies I don't think him directing would be a departure at all, in fact he would be pretty perfect

Robert Rodriguez.
He's like Quentin Tarentino but more consistent in the quality of his films.

But if I could pick anyone, I'd probably suggest the guy who directed Crank and Crank 2. Those are precisely the kind of over the top, hilarious and completely ridiculous movies that Deadpool needs to be like.

In my humble opinion

Quentin Tarantino – No (After reading the script I don’t think he could handle to action scenes very well, plus he’s already said he won’t do a CBM)

Robert Rodriquez – Yes (If his schedule permits)

James Mangold - ? (Haven’t seen any of his films so cant comment)

David Fincher – No (I think he could get the dark tones of the script spot on, but I would be worried we would lose a lot of the crazy humour and action)

Joe Carnahan – Yes (I would be happy with him in the director’s chair, he would get the humour right I think, and could handle the action scenes whilst still keeping it dark enough)

John Woo – ??? (Unsure, haven’t seen MI2 or Hard Boiled and only seen Face off once back when it come out and enjoyed it but still unsure )

Michael Davis – No (all I’ve ever heard is bad stuff about “shoot em up” so no for now, but could change my mind after seeing "Shoot em up")

Secret option Number 8

Edgar Wright – Yes (When watching Scott pilgrim I just kept thinking to myself I want this guy to direct Deadpool, I mean he would have to toughen up a bit and grow a pair with the gore and darker parts but he would get it visually spot on I think with all the little comic visuals)

@ the4thWall - Good shouts though, nice to get people thinking and talking about it.

I still can’t get over how awesome the script was.Think I’m gonna read it again today HAHA :D

I just pray Ryan Reynolds does this film, in that script it is RR as Deadpool, I could so see him playing this, and I hope it gets a good Director, whoever it is I just hope they do it justice and Fox dont Fox it up and tone it down!!!

Timur Bekmambetov he directed Wanted and is doing the sequel, as well as Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter... Carnahan and Mangold could probably do a pretty good job judging by the action and comedy from A-Team and Knight and Day... John Woo could get the action right but might not do the humor right going off of Face Off and MI:2... Fincher going off of fight club might be good but hasn't done a movie like that in years, probably wont do it since hes tied up the Girl with Dragon Tattoo franchise..

I think Eli Roth could probably make it nice and bloody but I'm not sure if he's ever done an actual action movie.

Lexi Alexander! She would be really good at this, or Stephen Norrington in his Blade days. Either would be very decent especially with the Scripts tone

As much as I like Tarantino, it's not going to happen. Rodreguiz would be good but is to busy. John Woo just isn't a good director. His original stuff was good but Mission Impossible 3 & Face/Off were terrible.

For the director, you need someone who can handel comedy, action, and characters. My votes for director would be for...
David Wain (Role Models, The Ten, Wet Hot American Summer)

Greg Mattola (Superbad, Adventureland, Paul)

Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang)

Kyle Newman (Fanboys)

David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, Snow Angels, Your Highness)

Jody Hill (Observe and Report, The Foot Fist Way)

All 6 of theses directors would be good because they are good at comedy, have done and have the potential to do really good action, and we know what they can do as far as comedy while pushing an R rating (which is what Deadpool needs), but could do some funny gory violence, with no limits. Plus imagine seeing one of theses guys names on the poster for a Deadpool movie and knowing it ways also from the guys who wrote Zombieland. You know it would be a really funny movie.

1) Tarrantino - An absolute Deadpool fan's dream as the director. He could honestly make this movie so well that awards could be given.
2) Rodriguez - After watching Predators recently I decided that this guy definently seems to have a great grasp of action...but maybe not so much hard comedy.
3) Carnahan - Sounds like another director who has a great feeling of intense action and hard comedy. He could definently do something with this script and make it truly Deadpool.
4) John Woo - Holy shit. Hard Boiled. That's all I have to say about this guy's credentials in action movies.
5) Michael Davis - Sounds like a good choice simply because of his work in Shoot Em' Up but the fact is I haven't seen anymore of his work. Based on that 1 movie though I think he has what it takes.

Michael Davis all the way. And as far as Robert Rodriguez is concerned I dont want him touching this thing at all.

Ok, I'll put in my two cents but before you deny it let it sink in...
I would like to see Jackie Chan
1. He's been doing action fighting movies (acting and directing) for like 40 years.
2. He's famous for incorporating comedy into his movies.
3. His fight choreography is outstanding.

If not Jackie then I vote for Steven Chow of Kung Fu Hustle fame. Think about it...roll it around the brain pan...feels good doesn't it?
