DEATHLOK's MCU Debut Reportedly Being Weighed By Marvel Studios

J. August Richards appeared as Deathlok most recently in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but it seems Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios are currently weighing whether the time is right for the character's MCU debut.

The trusted Tinseltown trade Deadline recently ran a feature article on the similarities between characters like Deadpool, Deathstroke, and Deathlok, and in their write-up, it was casually mentioned that in Deathlok's case, "Marvel Studios may use the character soon.

That's definitely not a solid confirmation by any means, but it's likely Feige and co. may have a script in development that features the character, or some VFX-studio working on the undead assassin.

Given the fact that the MCU largely ignores Marvel Television, it stands to reason that someone else other than J. August Richards will be portraying the character if he does indeed make it to the big screen.

That actually wouldn't be too difficult for Marvel Studios as the Deathlok mantle has been worn by several characters in the comics, and the version that featured on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. appears to be an amalgamation of all these individuals rather than one specific character.

If so, it'll be the Cyborg movie DC said they would make for next year.

So this is the moment of truth... If they cast someone else I'll lose faith in the TV side that's not on Disney +
