TOY STORY 4 Alternate Ending Reveals A Very Different Conclusion For [SPOILER]

Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have an alternate ending for Toy Story 4 which reveals a very different fate for Woody and Bo Peep. If you've seen the movie, you'll know that those two decide to stay behind as Buzz and the rest of the gang head off with Bonnie. However, in this version, Bo makes a very strange decision.

She abandons her life on the road to go and live with the "kid from the store."

That's presumably a reference to Harmony, the little girl who rejected Gabby Gabby. In the movie, Bo didn't have any real connection to her, so this must have been from a much earlier cut (bear in mind that Toy Story 4 went through a number of rewrites and iterations before the final version was settled on). The question is, what would this have meant for Woody?

Presumably, he would have returned to Bonnie, and, honestly, aside from him and Bo being split up, this wouldn't have been much of a finale to the beloved animated franchise.

What do you guys think?

Thank goodness they didn’t do that. Would have been a horrible way to end the series

@dracula - How is it a bad ending? I actually prefer it. This way Woody doesn't leave all his friends behind.

@Nightwing1015 - I think it's less "leaving his friends behind" and more knowing that his time as a kid's toy is done, and maybe it's time he starts his own life with someone he loves. The one thing you can be sure of is it was a hell of a tough decision for Woody.

@MadKingCipher - Considering her main development was her becoming cold and jaded to the idea of having a kid.

Woody & Bo be like:

So after like 10 years of seeing this kid visit the store, she just now decides that "she's the one" and wants to be a toy again? Seems out of character.

I kind of feel like Pixar is more fixated on having a movie center around emotional moments. Rather than organically incorporating emotional moments into their movies. If that makes sense. It's part of the reason Toy Story 4's ending didn't make me cry. Emotional sure, but I could see coming from a mile away.

Toy Story 5 will probably deal with the loss of Woody. There's a story there for sure.

Andy would never have given up Woody if he'd known what was gonna become of him.

This would have been a better ending than what we got.

My guess is that an earlier script had an arch for Bo where she realizes how cold and jaded she has become about being a kids toy.
Let's face it. Bo 4 is only a few steps away from being Latso in terms of how she views kids.
