With so many wild rumours and theories doing the rounds, it's hard to say for sure what we do and don't know about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It has all the makings of the biggest, craziest Marvel Studios movie to date, and facilitating the titular "madness" will be an MCU newcomer: America Chavez.
The hero has the power to travel between realities, literally punching her way through them via star-shaped portals. It's easy enough to understand why Stephen Strange might be interested in these abilities, though you have to believe it could make America a target of both the Scarlet Witch and Shuma-Gorath (assuming he actually appears).
Now, some newly revealed promo art - featured on the packaging of an upcoming Marvel Legends action figure - offers our best look yet at the character played by Xochitl Gomez.
There's nothing overly revealing here, of course, but Marvel Studios and director Sam Raimi clearly haven't veered too far from the comic books when it comes to America's appearance. The character is relatively new to the Marvel Comics Universe, so that surely gives them a little more creative freedom to take her in a new direction (though we're hopeful her LGBTQ+ status will remain).
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be released on May 6, 2022.
