We're now 50 days away from the theatrical release of Sam Raimi's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Marvel Studios has shared a brief promo to begin the countdown.

There doesn't appear to be any new footage, unfortunately, although there is a quick shot of the Variant who's been dubbed Defender Strange right at the end that didn't feature in either of the main trailers.

We do have a new look at America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) alongside Master Hamir (Topo Wresniwiro) courtesy of Empire Magazine, which you can also check out below.

In Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. The film is directed by Sam Raimi, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll and Jamie Christopher serve as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Michael Waldron.

The Doctor Strange sequel releases in U.S. theaters on May 6, 2022.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will outperform Spider-Man: No Way Home at the box office. Prepare yourself for the Madness :)

@DoubleD - no, but I'm sure it will make more than a billion at the box office

@DoubleD - I love Dr Strange but nah. Zero chance especially without China as well.

@Typhoon20 - Spider-Man did it without China and its Summer with NO Pandemic.

@DoubleD - The love that exists for Spiderman in general is huge, not as big for Xmen or for the Foxmen version... it will likely be over a billion but it would have to be way off the charts in expectations to beat Spiderman. not just cameos of other franchises but ones that matter to fans like the ones presented in Spiderman.

Hope this is 4 hours long.

Also, Love and Thunder bout to break Marvel's record for closest-to-release marketing campaign?

@WakandanQueen - the current being…? I Ginuwinely don’t know. I’m just a bachelor

@Waddles - good point. At least they’re not doing the WB thing of moving post pandemic, just when The Batman bought them back some good will. I don’t get it with Thor, certainly ain’t having the problems BP2 is, to my knowledge. Oh well trailers or not it’s either gonna be the bomb or it’s gonna bomb, really no 3rd… option…

TheWalkingCuban - 3/18/2022, 2:39 PM
@Waddles - well we’re back to sequels rather than prequel, new guy, and new team like 3/4 of last year’s MCU films. Hey I’m not complaining I’m rejoicing! Shangaret Cho being the best of those 3 I was ready for Spidey, and box office wise, I was not alone. I watched all 3 in theaters so I did my part

No reason to expect this really, but imagine we get a glimpse of Marvel far in the future...the 2099 universe. I want to see that so bad.

I hope we are in the universe where this movie is good. Like really good. Like let's get to $1B GOOD.

@Waddles - What makes it even more amazing was that those were the movies Perlmutter didn't want to happen thinking they wouldn't make money. You would think for a businessman he'd be smarter about where the money is.
TheWalkingCuban
TheWalkingCuban - 3/18/2022, 2:35 PM
@Crtdacct2say - as a followup for Spider-Man and continuation for whatever big thing the MCU has up its sleeve, I think $1B will be easy. Real question is how far past a billion, won’t reach NWH I don’t think. My gut says 1.2

@Waddles - Well said. Glad him and Loeb are gone. I don't care how good Daredevil is, there is no acceptable reason to say nobody cares about Asian people.

Also, is Disney still doing the 45 day window thing like they were last year with movie theater to streaming? I feel like we never got info about that.
WakandanQueen
WakandanQueen - 3/18/2022, 2:57 PM
@Menks123 - I think it's still a thing, but they gave Shang-Chi and Eternals way more time of theatrical exclusivity (even if the later didn't have that great legs).
JonC
