The rumor mill continues to churn out bold claims about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, though how many of them will prove to be correct is unlikely to be revealed before May 6.
Spider-Man director Sam Raimi will be at the helm of the sequel, and there's been speculation since day one that the ex-Sorcerer Supreme could be joined by Tobey Maguire's webbed wonder. A film about the Multiverse is the perfect place to make that happen, and gives the filmmaker the opportunity to reunite with the superhero he helped bring to the big screen.
After Spider-Man: No Way Home, it seems highly likely, and a new photo doing the rounds might confirm it (or not).
As you'll see below, actress Mariana Torres -- who voices Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch in the Portuguese dubs -- shared a photo alongside Manolo Rey, the actor who fills in for Tobey Maguire. She captioned it "Good things are coming," and seeing as she voices Wanda and he just finished working on Spider-Man: No Way Home, this theory pretty much writes itself.
There have been rumors Maguire's Spider-Man will appear to briefly battle the Scarlet Witch, and this could confirm their legitimacy. This pairing could also be for a totally unrelated projec, but it's fun to speculate! The Doctor Strange sequel needs to hurry up and arrive already.
