Will DOCTOR STRANGE Be Too Powerful To Join THE AVENGERS In Their Battle Against Thanos?
Doctor Strange is the Sorcerer Supreme, but is he going to be too overpowered to join the The Avengers? Marvel President Kevin Feige sheds some light on that here and teases the extent of his abilities.
We learned this week that Captain Marvel is going to be the Marvel Cinematic Universe's most powerful superhero, but surely someone as powerful as Doctor Strange is going to make the fight against Thanos a little uneven in Avengers: Infinity War? After all, he's the Sorcerer Supreme, so why not just teleport the Mad Titan to another dimension or, well, wipe him out of reality altogether?
In a recent interview with IGN, Kevin Feige was asked how exactly Marvel plans on balancing Strange's mystical abilities with the rest of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and he had this to say about the extent of the hero's abilities. "He's not all powerful. Without giving too much away, he's not an expert when he faces off against the things he has to face off with in this movie, even toward the end of the movie. So there's a learning curve for him, which is always fun for all of the heroes -- and they face a pretty tough dude in the next Avengers movie." That actually makes a lot of sense for the time being.
After all, Strange can develop his powers over the course of future solo movies, and TV spots and trailers for Doctor Strange have actually shown him struggling a little. In many ways, that's more interesting to watch than him being massively powerful. Do you think this is the best way to handle the Sorcerer Supreme in Avengers: Infinity War?
