Before I start, I'm going to say this once. Comicbookmovie.com covers more than just comicbook movies. So, I don't want to hear any complaints if that's what you were planning on doing. Anyways, I grew up with Harry Potter. In my opinion, it's the best film series. It has everything. Good, sometimes even amazing acting (no, amazing does not include Dan Radcliffe, he is just a good actor). It has humor, romace, edge of your seat action and a fantastic while terrifying villain. But, out of all 8 movies, I think Half-Blood Prince is the best. Here are five reasons why.
5: We get to know our villain

To me Voldemort is a better villain than Darth Vader. It's an opinion cause they're both different types of evil. Voldemort is born evil and Vader was corrupted. In, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, we get to know our villain. We get to see where he came from and many other things. His curiosity got the better of him and he split his soul into seven pieces. He is the most powerful dark wizard of all time and we get to learn about him other than that he killed Harry's parents and has returned to rule the wizard world and finish what he started. He's a fantastic villain (Goblet of Fire and Deathly Hallows part 2 really show it), he's terrifying and everything else you could want in a villain like that.
4: The Right Balance
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the film that got the right balance of everything. It's dark, funny, romantic, violent and heart warming. It's dark without getting too dark, funny without going over the top, romantic while not feeling like a Nicholas Sparks flick (I had to say it) and violent without feeling like a war movie or a superhero flick. It blends them all together very smoothly. Actually for as dark as it is, it's very funny.
3: Cinematography
This film is truly a beautiful one to watch. Yes, I think the cinematography for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is beautiful and the best of the series. For me personally, it helps getting me engrossed into the movie. If you don't watch it for anything else, this should be reason number one.
2: It's exciting
Don't get me wrong, all the Harry Potter films are incredibly exciting. But, I feel this one has the most excitement. While there are some things that were left out of the movie that were in the book (there was a battle at Hogwarts but left it out due to not wanting to feel that the battle in Deathly Hallows is repitition), and this film probably has the least ammount of action out of all the movies. It does somehow stay exciting. You have the scene at the burrow with the Death Eaters, you have the Cave, Katie Bell's curse. There are not many exciting moments in the sense of suspense and action but I think it's because of the whole less is more thing. I feel, that's why it's the most exciting.
1: It's Powerful
I actually came near to tears at the end of Deathly Hallows part 2 because it was something I grew up with (like so many others) and because even though it was a happy ending, it was still the end of what is arguably the greatest film series ever. That being said, I'm referring to one scene in particular. It's the scene of Dumbledore's Death. Not the death itself but the unity. The unity, putting the wands in the air and paying their tributes to Dumbledore. It's not a tear jerker by any means but, it's a very powerful scene because it shows that even in the darkest of times, there will always be unity and they will stand together in the dark until the end.
These are reasons why that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the best of the series in my opinion. Coincedentally it's also my favorite book. Do you have a favorite movie in the series?
