DC Cinematic Universe Fan Cast

Hey guys! With all this Batman/Superman news lately, we all know it's headed to the Justice League film. I decided to use everything that's already set in stone and expand on it to cast my DC Universe. Enjoy!

CREW

Director - Zack Snyder

Writer - Christ Terrio

Story - Affleck, Terrio, Snyder, Goyer

As far as the crew goes, I think it would be best to combine the talents of all the guys I mentioned. I think Snyder can come in with great director perspective, Goyer with the comic book angle and Affleck/Terrio with the story and character development of the piece. I would personally put the most trust in Affleck/Terrio to handle the overall arc of the DCU, with Snyder and Goyer in a consulting position.

HEROES

Superman/Clark Kent - Henry Cavill

I really enjoyed Cavill as Superman, I thought he filled out the role very well. In my DCU, Superman would be coming into his own as a superhero. He would help to reconstruct Metropolis with Lex Luthor *GASPS* I will expand upon that soon enough. He's working with the government and Lex, trying to help them understand his alien technology. He would also have his famous Fortress of Solitude, made from Zod's crashed ship.

Batman/Bruce Wayne - Ben Affleck

Personally, I was ecstatic at the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman. He really fitted the image of what they should have as the new Batman in my mind. In the DCU, Batman would basically be a myth, with only close calls and criminal witness reports. He's been around for over 10 years, but he is so damn good as what he does he hasn't been truly brought into the light, a ninja to the max. This would create terror in criminals and unrest in the people of Gotham, nobody knows if they can trust him, or if he's even real. Batman would be an anti-hero, blurring the lines of hero and madman, brutally taking out criminals. Batman would be a very tormented man, who still hasn't been able to control his anger due to what has happen to him. He also doesn't know if he can trust Superman and he doesn't work very well with the Justice League. This would essentially be his arc throughout the DCU, finally coming to terms with his past and realizing he needs the Justice League as much as they need him. Bruce Wayne would basically just be a front for the real man, playing up the billionaire playboy bit to the max. I think him and Supes would come into confrontation because the government wants Superman to investigate Batman.

Wonder Woman - Gal Gadot

I honestly haven't seen much of Gadot in the past, but I'm excited to see what she does with the role. Wonder Woman in this would essentially be focused on her people and whatever is good for her people. She gets involved with the Justice League by offering to help them combat whatever threat that is impending. Supermand and the government would be in good favor with her, trusting her to the max.

Green Lantern/Hal Jordan - Ryan Reynolds

In a huge curveball, I've put Reynolds as Green Lantern, but listen to this: He would die VERY, VERY early on. I was definitely not a fan of Green Lantern 2011, but I think that it doesn't need to be thrown away. Events from that can help to boost the DCU, might as well work with the little that was good from the film. This casting decision would also mean I would keep Mark Strong as Sinestro, which I'll expand upon when I get there. Jordan's death would set up the next in line, John Stewart.

Green Lantern/John Stewart - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

Jordan's death would set up the introduction of the next Lantern, John Stewart. I really do believe that Johnson is being lined up to play him in the DCU with all these rumors buzzing around. I think that the events of the first Green Lantern film would show the Corps need another human to fill Jordan's role because of the hope he could inspire.

The Flash/Barry Allen - Jesse Plemons

I really think Plemons is an up and coming talent. In the DCU, The Flash would be the youngest hero of them all, coming into his own and realizing his powers. He would the joke cracking, energy filled one out of the bunch.

Martian Manhunter - Avery Brooks

Avery Brooks has always been the first name that pops in my head when I think of the Mannhunter. I really think he can fill out the older, wisdom filled role that is required for my DCU. If you don't agree, watch American History X and get back to me. His performance would be achieved through motion/voice capture and CGI. I think Martian Manhunter would be the last of his kind, living in solitude, coming to Earth to warn of impending danger. He sees how Superman has been recieved and decides it is time to make himself known.

Aquaman - Jason Momoa

I believe the rumors are true and Momoa is being considered to play Aquaman. He has been a close contender for comic book movies before, so I know he would be interested. I think to make Aquaman work, you'd really have to make him a badass. He would be one of the most resistant to working together, fighting the Justice League at first. He comes around though and joins, going against the elders of his society.

Green Arrow/Oliver Queen - Charlie Hunnam

I'm a huge fan of Hunnam and c'mon, the resemblance is uncanny! I think he has a great group of fans that would support this casting and he has worked with Warner Brothers before with Pacific Rim. I think Green Arrow would kind of parallel Batman, billionaire, secret superhero, but more in the light and open to working together. I think he could first be introduced as Oliver Queen, then in a later installment, realizes he has the resources to help and becomes the Green Arrow.

Cyborg/Victor Stone - John Boyega

I love Attack the Block and thought Boyega really shined in that role. He's an up and coming talent in my opinion and I think snagging this role would really bring him into the spotlight. In my DCU, he would first be introduced as Victor Stone, but perhaps he can become disfigured helping the government work on the Kryptonian technology. Superman liked him as Victor and decides if the government wants him as an ally, they have to reconstruct Victor as Cyborg in order to help Superman/The Justice League fight whatever danger.

Hawkgirl/Shiera Hall - Maggie Grace

I think Maggie Grace would be an interesting choice, I liked her in Taken. In the DCU, Hawkgirl wouldn't be introduced until later installments and she wouldn't play the biggest role, but she would be very helpful in fighting impending danger.

Supergirl - Brit Marling

Supergirl definitely exists to some extent in the DCU already. I've honestly never seen Brit Marling in anything, but I hear fantastic things about Another Earth. Somebody cast her in their fan cast and I thought she was perfect for the role.

Nightwing/Dick Grayson - Adam Driver

I was excited to see his name pop up in the rumor mill, I think he'd make an interesting choice. In my DCU, Nightwing at one time would have been Batman's Robin, but they had a large falling out. I think the real rift between them would be that Dick has been able to control himself and he's no longer the scared, lonely orphan he was. Bruce can't fathom the possibility of moving on and this somehow causes their falling out. After being on his own, Dick adapts the Nightwing persona and becomes involved with the Justice League. Eventually, Dick and Bruce are able to settle their differences when Bruce learns to move on, perhaps at the expense of Alfred's death.

VILLAINS

Lex Luthor - Jesse Eisenberg

I'm still very shocked at this casting, I really hope it works out in favor of the DCU. Basically, this Lex would be a Zuckerberg figure, a young punk who's willing to push aside friends and allies to reach the top. I said earlier he would help to work with Superman in rebuilding the city and with his Kryptonian technology only to get very close with him. Lex is just pulling strings and has an agenda of his own because he has a god complex, he believes he needs to be superior to Superman. He turns on Superman, telling him he's an alien and nobody can trust him. Lex also builds his large suit out of Zod's suit in order to go toe to toe with the Justice League. His toying with Kryptonian technology catches the eye of some other foes.

Brainiac - Edward Norton

I think that Lex tampering with Kryptonian technology would attract the attention of Brainiac! I think Edward Norton would be a great choice because he's a great actor and isn't afraid to play the villian. I also think he can bring something interesting as far as the story goes. In my DCU, Brainiac would have been one of the bread Kryptonian children that went wrong. This creates hate in his heart and he becomes a criminal on Krypton, but is forced to flee. Seeing that Superman exists, he finds his chance to kill the last Kryptonian and take over Earth as his own.

Sinestro - Mark Strong

I thought Strong's Sinestro was the only highlight of Green Lantern and I got so pumped when he finally put on the yellow ring. I think with his new found power, he decides he no longer needs the Corps and in an act of defieance/showing his power, he kills Hal Jordan. The Corps then appoint John Stewart and this sets up his showdown with Sinestro.

The Joker - Sharlto Copley

I am a big fan of Copley's and I know that he'd be very interested in the villain role. I think that this would diverge greatly from Nicholson and Ledger's performance in that The Joker and Batman are already established foes. This version of The Joker loves nothing more than madness and killing, a real, real lunatic. Similar to how Batman is a man worthy of walking among gods, The Joker is a man worthy of walking among demons. These extraterrestrial forces would relish in the idea of him joining them in perhaps ...... a Legion of Doom. The Joker is a loose cannon though, he can go off the train tracks at anytime and follows no true order.

Darkseid - Stacy Keach

I absolutely loved Keach's role in American History X. I thought he was the perfect overbearing, manipulative villian. This performance would be accomplished through motion/voice capture and CGI, then some work on the voice to make it sound even more scary. Darkseid in the DCU would most likely be the biggest threat of them all. He is the one who would form the Legion of Doom, leading Lex on to believe that's the leader, but would really take over the ranks.

I like your pick for Green Arrow, but I'm not too fond of your picks for Flash, Aquaman and Nightwing. Also, shouldn't this go in Fan Fiction?

For god sakes stop casting Dwayne as John! It doesn't work! If you want to give him a DC part, give him the part he wants...Lobo!

Also @GliderMan it's still been positively confirmed that the Arrow and Flash shows are not part of the DCCU

Im going off of what is most likely to happen. I personally would prefer Idris Elba in the role, but that's not going to happen. The Rock has tweeted about John Stewart and played coy about it. I think Lobo is far off, not until Justice League 2 or 3, if he's ever even going to happen.

@JasonGrayson77 Oh no. There's no "yet" about it. The show creators have confirmed it. They are adamant. Their Arrow and Flash shows are not part of the DCCU

Adam Driver? Maggie Grace?! Ew.

Also, why does Batman have to be an urban myth still? Ten years is a long time. Why can't they Timmverse it and acknowledge his legitimate existence by the time Supes roles along? In the Timmverse, Batman was around for years, people knew about him. And when Supes came along, Ma Kent uttered that oh so perfect line: "I don't want anyone thinking you're like that nut in Gotham City..." They dont have to necessarily like him, and if he was around for 3 years, it might make sense. Not to mention the fact that it would be hard for Bats to still be an urban legend through Dick's entire Robin career, and into his time as Nightwing...

@TheBug022

What works of Driver and Grace have you seen that make you say ew? Im curious.

Batman is an expert ninja, so it's incredibly plausible that he could go unnoticed for so long. The public wants to know about him, but the GCPD won't talk. Gordon is the only one that interacts with him. In such a curropt city, it'd be easy to cover up the truth. Also, Batman doesn't want/need the recognition, he isn't a narcisist. He'd rather work in super secret mode, keeping the bad people afraid and make their minds wonder. So in turn, Robin/Nightwing would work in the same way. Just because they're aren't allies anymore, doesn't mean they both aren't incredibly smart and know how to work in secret.

Not a fan of Flash, but I can see why you'd choose Plemons. These aren't very original castings either, but I'd love to see them nonetheless, great idea for GL too, but I kind of want to see Hal done right, maybe use him as the second GL.

@MCott- I would humbly disagree with your assessment of the Dwayne Johnson- John Stewart situation. Hear me out...
I concur that personality wise, The Rock isn't the first name that pops to mind when one thinks of Stewart. There are AT LEAST a couple of actors most would rather prefer. But it's not only about the personality. Rock is quite literally the Midas of Hollywood right now. After the disaster that was Ryan Reynolds' Green Lanturd, they need someone like him to get the mythos over with the audience again. That is going to be Rock's biggest task and that is what WB would expect of him if he is indeed cast.

About his acting, I'd like to add that the Rock has indeed evolved as an actor in the last five years or so. His roles in Faster, Snitch, Pain and Gain and the like lead me to believe he may not be as one dimensional as he seems. He may just pull it off!

@aNarcHy2day It has nothing to do with the Rock. I like him. It's just that I think he's wrong for John Stewart.
