After a bit of research on the net, I have found some more candidates for the role of Captain America. In the end, I think a poll is going to be needed to allow the CBM community to make their choice for a favorite hopeful.

From what I found it seems as if Matt Damon is a popular choice. As was Aaron Eckhart, but he is Two Face! Also popular was Nathan Fillion. Even Jerry O'Connel and Paul Walker were suggested. LEEE777, we all know who you are gonna say :)

I know there is a lot of debate about who should play Captain America. But this movie has to be done right! No time for reboots for a Captain America movie 'cos Avengers will follow so close to the release of this movie.

Ryan Phillip is too short, way too short!
Ryan McPartlin from Chuck, good.
Michael Shanks, too old.
Matt Damon, way too old!
Josh Lucas, too old.
Eric Dane, OK.
Cole Hauser, a little old.
Chris Pine, it would be cool to see him play a Captain
again so he's perfect!
Ben Browder, way too old!
Skarsgard, taller than Hemsworth playing Thor so not good!
Tahmoh Penickett, great! I always thought he would make a
a great Cap America, he also would make an excellent
Daredevil.

i would have to say either McPartlin or Shanks.
ryan has that honest look to his face while michael has that innocent tough guy which sorta embodies steve rogers.
he is a man out of his time and he would have a look of awe about him that i believe michael could pull off.
as for age, rdj was forty when he played iron man and shanks is only thirty-eight.
cap and tony grow to become the absolute best of friends. i believe that if the chemistry was to be real i think shanks might actually have a shot.

but that is just me.

I can't wait for them to announce who will be Cap. Sometimes I can't go to sleep at night just thinking about it.

The problem with anyone over 30 years old is that when Steve Rogers volunteered for service but was rejected when he was about 18-21 and was made into Cap that near the end of WWII he would only be about 29-30 years old when he was frozen and put in suspended animation.

So when they thawed him out in the future he would still be the same age as when he was frozen. So for the first movie you need someone about Tahmoh or Ackles age to play Steve Rogers for the first movie, 18-21 at the beginning, 29-30 years old near the end of WWII.

Ryan McPartlin is 6'3", the same height as Hemsworth who's playing Thor. He would make Thor not look so big! All the Avengers should be from RDJ's 5'9" to about 6'1" to make Hemsworth seem Towering!

Actually yes it is SoulEater. It is extremely hard to wrap my mind around Worthington as Cap.

1. Worthington looks nothing like Cap.

2. He's only 5'10", and hardly has the build of Cap, or something close to it.

3. He's not American, and not only that, he can only hide his accent if he whispers, and even then he's dodgy with it. I don't picture Cap as someone who whispers his orders to Iron Man and Thor...

4. He hasn't shown anything resembling Cap's character qualities.

5. His resume is short, and none of his movies so far (only 1 mainstream movie, and it didn't even do so well) have showed that he can handle this character.

I say Eckhart would make a good cap, he's the right size, age, has blonde hair, is a very good actor and we know he can lead a team of A-List heroes...maybe, as long as its not ackles, I say hes better fitted to Hawkeye
