I've watched every season of Smallville. I watched the Attempt at a Aquaman spin-off. Why did they cast Justin Hartley to play Arthur Curry rather than give Alan Ritchson a chance to shine?
Ask the CW... point is they dropped it despite the over the charts ratings. I was around when they were thinking of relaunching the Supergirl TV franchise with Laura Vandervoort. It wouldn't have worked anyways...
They're best idea was a Green Arrow spin-off. They brought him in in season six, making it one of the best Smallville seasons ever. Even up to today he's one of the show's most popular characters. THAT could have worked. If they had him mentor Supergirl like in the Justice League cartoon, give Alaina Huffman a lead role as Black Canary and convince Tom Welling to make a couple appearances as Superman. It could have been great... but I don't hear about that anymore.
So how can the CW kill their never-ending Smallville without loosing all those millions viewers?
I think a Legion of Superheroes spin off could work. Now this is a bit unrealistic, seeing how there's a cartoon about it that just finished. There's more chances of the world ending tomorrow than DC handing over the rights to all those characters in time to save the network from loosing maybe one fifth of their fan base. But if we put those negatives aside, I think it could really work. Here's how...
As a series finale, Clark put's on the legion's ring and
BAM!!! That's it... that's all you need people. When Tom Welling refuses to resign have him return to the present promising to send his cousin in return (sort of as a mandatory Kryptonian training).Besides the fact that this is my favorite superhero team (after the Avengers / Justice League), the writers would have a lot to work with. For those of you who aren't hardcore DC Comics fans, The Legion is a group of teenagers in the 31rst century that band together to protect their universe. Inspired by Superman they try to be superheroes even though they are constantly in conflict with the United Planets (similar to our UN) and their Science Police.
So without further a due...
The Cast:
If some of you folks that have watched a couple of my castings, you'll remember how much I love continuity. If they ain't horrible for the part, don't change them... That being said, the Founding Trio.
Powers: Magnetism manipulation; control and generation of magnetic fields.
Powers: Telepathy; ability to read and control minds.
Powers: Electrical manipulation; control and generation of electrical fields.
..................................................................................................................................................................
You might remember him from the 4400. I think this was the hardest character to cast.
Powers: 12th level intelligence.
Keep it simple, Keep it Vandervoort!!!
Powers: Powers and abilities of Superman.
Like I always say we always need at least one A list actor to bring in more fans. I'm not sure he can be considered A list or not I wait to hear your comments on it.
Powers: Super-strength, super-speed, flight, invulnerability, flash vision, and "penetra-vision" (all approximately at Kryptonian power levels), only one of which can be used at a time.
Honestly I really find this girl hot and she'll need work cauz Legend of the Seeker ain't coming back from what I've heard.
Powers: Intangibility.
I know a lot of you are not fans of rappers becoming actors but I really like him as the Phantom in Smallville. Plus it would be great for his business.
Powers: Ability to increase the mass of objects.
Can't really say I know her acting skills but she does look the part to me.
Powers: Gravity negation.
A perfect fit. The only other person I could have cast over Horner is Brandon Quinn from "Big Wolf on Campus" what do you think?
Powers: Superhuman agility and strength, claws and fangs, super-senses, and accelerated healing.
this girl is hot too... I first saw her on 90210 but apparently she's a star of some CSI show.
Powers: Generation of illusions.
Try telling me this isn't meant to be... Kyle XY? Jean-Luc is actually a great actor for his age... definitely underrated.
Powers: Invisibility to the naked eye.
I can't say I've seen her with short hair but I'd like to... she's from the OC and the new show "Human Target"
Powers: Ability to split into three bodies.
Another perfect match... I'm on fire lol. Anyone watch Vampire Diaries?
Powers: Elemental transmutation.
Another star from the 4400. She would almost make a better Princess Projectra.
Powers: Shadow-casting.
If you've watched One Tree Hill, you already know Michael. I'm not sure how much he knows about Martial Arts but he's the best fit I could find.
Powers: Mastery of all known martial arts.
I don't know much about her either but she was awesome in the "Forbidden Kingdom".
Powers: Ability to shrink to microscopic size.
I could totally see Ben super-sizing himself... Even though he's not as big as in the comics, are they ever?
Powers: Ability to grow to gigantic size.
I know what you're thinking... Bleach it!!! If Anna Paquin can go blond for "True Blood" so can Lucy.
Powers: Precognition.
I think our friend from Harry Potter is perfect for the changeling alien.
Powers: Shapeshifting.
So what do you think?
