With news that nolans batman and zack synders superman will not be included in an "avengers" styled universe connecting to the justice league movie, there's been a number of questions many comic book fans and myself have been pondering. How can it work? Who will play Batman and superman? Who will the villains be? How can they give the justice league a reason to assemble?(what kind of force could be threatening the earth that it calls for a team of dc's most well known heroes?)
I have afew ideas how to make this film adaption work. Though I'm still leaning towards the fact that a justice league movie will not satisfy anyone, period.
One idea, a main villain a large enough threat: DARKSEID played by micheal clarke duncanJthe green mile, daredevil) he has the face and the sinister voice to pull off a grim darkseid. This has been a long time fanboy fantasy of mine to see micheal clarke duncan take on darkseid.
A justice league movie would need the dark and gritty tone of zack synders watchmen. It couldn't include the realism tone of christopher nolans Batman or Zack snyders described super-man, though zack synder directing would not be a bad move. It wouldn't work without a solid R rating so snyder keeping watchmen as an influence could deliver this.
Possible plot: Darkseid enlists the help of Lex luthor(darkseid seeing lex as expendable, later on has him killed or captured by the JL).
In the beggining, the JL hasn't even been formed. Batmans in gotham superman is in metroplois, though they're well aquinted. Each hero potrols they're own city, knowing of eachother but never formely meeting.
Darkseid has lex travel to each city only to destroy every prison facility with the help of darkseid. Darkseid and lex(in his popular mechanical body armor) have yet to be identified. This could serve as our reason to have the JL assemble and work together. With nowhere to hold the common criminal or super villain, each hero is outnumbered and overly exausted before superman and batman seek the help of various heros. Aqauman could serve a purpos if lex had an underwater lair, giving him more purpose than the hero we love to hate.
Give batman a rawshack kind of role. he doesn't like to wait for the others to act and can kick some serious ass by himself.
Give us a mark hamil style of the joker. The look and a similiar voice. But make him as twisted as the comics. Poison gas from the flower, a large six shooter with one bullet being the BANG! Flag, no remorse and a constant thirst for bloody mischeif. They could make this the largest blood campaign ever seen by the joker, being darkseid is funding his plans.
Finale: the police and justice league rounding up villains and criminals. A final showdown between superman and darksein. Wonder woman battles lex in his armor, and batman trying to stop the joker. The joker accidentaly kills himself with his own parade float with a giant shredder attached to eat, trying to kill batman. The joker has a large parade going on in which he has been murdering innocent people with the help of escaped criminals. This is where all the real action is taking place, green lantern is capturing people in large numbers at a time with his ring, and flash is rounding them up. After jokers death, the scene moves to darkseid and lex being confronted by superman and wonder woman. The huge fight takes place, and it isn't looking good for either hero. Then wonder woman beats lex with the help of batman who's made his way to the battle and superman bring darkseid up into space where the battle continous. Darkseid teleports them to his lair and it continous. Superman defeats darkseid and he self destructs his own lair almost killing superman and sending him back to earth.
The justice league won't work unless they give us a graphic novel inspired JL. Otherwise I can only see it turning out ultra campy and disappointing. They don't need to connect 7 indiviual films to make this happen. Just give us one giant stand alone...
Sequel: The death of superman. Influence for Doomsdays damage on metroplous coming from the look of manhattan in I Am LEGEND.
This is a very tricky movie to pull off. I apalogize if my ideas seemed scattered but this is my idea and taste for a justice league movie. I left out a lot of detail into why certain things are happening but these are rough ideas, I haven't thought about filling in the blanks. This is just a general idea of how to make the JL movie work. Any feedback or ideas to plot points, feel free to add them in the comments.
