In the event of a Zombie apocalypse, a lot of things are going to change… drastically, However in many ways everything will also remain the same. You’ll find out who you can actually trust and who your true friends are. You’ll also discover that zombies aren’t the only thing you have to keep a look out for. We’ll be taken back to the days of the Wild West where communities have to come together and protect each other, where he who has the biggest gun makes the law. Eventually evolution will kick in, and our bodies will revert into survival mode.

One of the first things that will occur during a zombie apocalypse after the construction of new communities and towns, will be the ever present need to get completely plastered in order to cope with everything that’s going on. We’ll see a revival of homemade alcohol like moonshine. There will be people who move from town to town base to base with supplies to sell. Paper money will no longer be the currency however in this new world. We’ll see a revival of gold and silver being exchanged as well as guns and ammo.

Not only will zombies be the enemy of all, but also gangs of criminals and scavengers. Bandits like in the wild west, will move from urban area to sub urban areas. They won’t care who you are or if you have a family to protect and look after. Their number one priority is to obtain as many possessions as possible in order to become kings of this new world. They’ll rely on fear for control. They’ll be exclusive groups that aren’t going to just allow anyone to join their ranks, only those who prove they’re as ruthless as they are. Once they’ve obtained everything they can from the cities, they’ll begin moving outward, like the Huns conquering every bit of civilization they can, before moving into other larger cities and fighting for control with other gangs.

Some people will begin finding food in the most unlikely places. Their bodies will go into survival mode to the point where they’ll eat literally anything to survive. Once regular food becomes scarce, they’ll beginning killing their food; snakes, rabbits, cats, dogs, possums, bugs, etc. Finally when even animals become scarce and bugs are no longer filling, they’ll begin eating their own. They’ll begin by only eating the ones who die that haven’t turned into zombies. After a while, they’ll get tired of waiting for bodies to drop and they’ll start attacking anyone who comes scavenging for supplies. These people will become known as Vultures or Cannibals if you prefer. They’ll be living zombies who aren’t constrained by the loss of muscle or body parts, but they’ll also be easier to kill than undead zombies.

Below, I will give you several examples of well designed and well defended bases.

When setting up a base, camp or community during a Zombie Apocalypse, There are several things to remember… 1. Make sure you have lookout posts (Nests)… 2. Make sure you have patrols around the inside of the perimeter… 3. Place camouflaged sniper holes… 4. Make absolutely certain when setting up camps you place the tents in a circle or close enough to one with a hollow interior… 5. Place zip lines running from each nest to the “base” which would be a secure location with barriers in between you and the undead… 6. Make sure you have a base as described in #5… 7. Set up barriers around the perimeter of your camp to stop or slow down zombies and or gangs… You must have a base inside a base. If zombies break through the perimeter of your camp, you need to make your way to the base or nests. If they break through the barriers of your base, you’ll need a “panic room” to gather in…. 8. If possible let the men fight off the hordes while the women and children take refuge in the panic room of the base. Women must then defend the children by creating either a line to separate the children from the perimeter of the panic room or gather the children in a tight circle with the women surrounding them… 9. Everyone gets a weapon; Men, women and children. This way if any or all of the perimeters get broken, each level of defense has a way of protecting themselves… 10. You need an exit strategy within each one of these perimeters. Whether it be exiting the camp safely, exiting the base safely, exiting the panic room safely, or the children exiting the perimeter of the women.

Stay tuned everyone for the next installment of HOW TO SURVIVE ZOMBIEGEDDON! And remember, If you enjoy my zombiegeddon series or detest it, vote in the poll and let me know if you want me to keep it going or not. You can find the poll located on my zombiegeddon fan page or below...

I agree with your middle three camp grounds but the first and last, damn, no, it's game over if a horde gets to you. the one in the sea, it's just about food supply, penitentiary would be the best. for me i've always thought that i'd try to get to an oil rig but once again food, also a boat would be good but any port would be severely infested, not to mention pirates, the gangs of the sea. But you got some good ideas.

I like some of the thoughts here, but I don't necessarily support the idea of keeping falling back to panic rooms. Depending on the size of the hoard, they could overrun it or just keep you in there until you starve to death. I think an important part of every base should be that you won't be pinned in. Always have an escape plan.

i like the idea of being at sea an oil rig or that island food shouldnt be an issue just fish in the ocean best to get as far away from civilization as possible and where is that island?
