As you probably know (why else would you be interested in this) Grant Gustin will be starring in a show on the CW, making a shared universe with their hit show
Arrow. I am going to go ahead and assume that if Felicity develops a relationship with Barry, she won't become a show regular, unless Oliver intends to find a new hacker for him (cue sub-conscious thoughts of Barbara Gordon).
As for my character predictions,
Barry is going to have to have a
Team Arrow of his own. We can't just have Barry always being on his own because thats boring and from a writer's point of view it is harder to develop drama.
The obvious first person to assist Barry in my mind is Cisco Ramo. He is already going to be on the show, played by Carlos Valdes, and could carry out an Oliver-Diggle relationship. He will be a pre-Vibe version of his character though, so the show can act as an origin story for him as well.
The character that John Wesley Shipp is playing is still a mystery, but as most people speculated, he will be Jay Garrick. He could also be a part of the team, but as a guide and he won't ever really have action.
From here the characters are more abstract. Barry will need a partner with financial means, and it may be a stretch, but I thought of Darwin Elias, one of the Flash's confiders in the New 52 run. The character has the money to fund Barry's team and is also a scientist/researcher so he can cover some of Felicity's area. Also, if you have been following the Flash comics you would know that Darwin ends up having conflicting thoughts with Barry and goes against him, giving the show a possible route.
I want for there to be at least one other person to be in this group, and it should be a girl. I am not sure who I would hope for it to be, but if you have any good theories, comment below.
As for Barry's
Arrow Cave, I would love him to work out of the room where he was struck by lightning. I understand that it is his work place but it looked like a cool room that I would like to see more of.
For the plot of the show, I think there should be a very even seperation between Flash and Barry. We should get the awesome fight and running sequences, but in addition, lots of Barry doing his job and dealing with family problems. I hope to get a CSI feel from the show every few episodes from watching him do his job, but then see Barry run out the back and pop open his ring.
A major thing that the writers for this show should not lose sight of is one idea. That idea is too directly contrast
Arrow. In
Flash, there should be very bright colors and open lighting with upbeat music and compelling drama from every angle. One of the reasons I like the room that Barry got struck by lightning in is because it has that big open window, clearly reflecting
Arrow's dark and grounded theme.
I could go more into my thoughts on the suit and etc. but that wasn't the purpose of this editorial. I just wanted to voice my predictions. Comment below and tell me what you think! Thanks.
