Marvel Netflix Shows Wishlist: DAREDEVIL

Marvel Netflix Shows Wishlist: DAREDEVIL

With the upcoming Marvel Netflix shows there's a lot of speculation as too who the villains will be. Well I've put together my wishlist of villains which should appear in season 1. Starting with Daredevil.

Daredevil- I Think Daredevil should primarily, in the first season that is, fight crime lords and get caught in between gang wars, with Kingpin being the primary antagonist and have an episode or two introducing the Hand for the next season. The villains I think should appear are:

Kingpin- He will be the big bad manipulating and controlling form behind the scenes.

Bullseye- He shows up as an assassin contracted by the Hand to eliminate Stick, Daredevils master. This causes them to develop their rivalry. Also have Elektra show up in this episode.

Calavera- One of the four crime lords of Hell’s Kitchen. His unique ability to use people’s guilt against them can help to flush out Matt’s relationship with his father.

Owl- One of the four crime lords of Hell’s Kitchen. This guy is nasty and has razor sharp talons as well as being a prominent Daredevil villain.

The Rose- One of the four crime lords of Hell’s Kitchen. He could make for a very different crime boss being calm, calculating and gentlemanly.

Coyote- Sense Spot is probably considered a Spiderman villain here’s the next best thing. He’s a psychopathic mercenary that can create portals to different places. I could see him as one of the enforcers of the crime bosses.

The Eel- Another potential enforcer for one of the Crime lords, he’s basically Stingray but evil.

Paladin- At worst an Anti-Hero at best a potential ally. This mercenary could be friend or foe.

Mauler- A former weapons manufacturer who used his inventions to become a contracted killer, he would be ideal as an enforcer for a crime lord.

Mr Fear- He could be one of villain in season 1. He’s basically Scarecrow but also not scarecrow at all if that makes any sense.

The Enforcers- Consisting of Montana, Fancy Dan and Ox, they are the Kingpin’s elite enforcers who protect his business interests.

Typhoid Mary- One of villain season 1 and return in season 2. She could be an escaped experiment from Noah Burstein’s lab to tie in too Luke Cage (more on that in the Luke Cage wish list.)

References- Its been revealed that the Marvel Netflix shows are going to be for the super fans so we should expect a lot of fan service and references to characters who may appear. For the Daredevil show I think that they should mainly reference and allude to vigilantes. For example have a newspaper discussing whether Moon Knight is real or a legend. A news report detailing The Punisher attacking a mob restaurant. Night Thrasher, Whit Tiger, Black Tarantula, the Shroud. There's a lot of vigilantes to choose from.

I like it! Are you doing this for the other characters too?

I love the Rose, he was great running up to the Venom arc, when he hired Puma to fight Spidey and all. I think Kingpin's still a Spidey villain but Sony seem willing to co-operate with Marvel, so I could see Kingpin appearing on the show.

I was under the impression that each character was getting a single season leading up to The Defenders. I forget where I read that now. Given the cast for the shows, I half-expect them to be based on, or at least incorporate the Bendis run. If so, the Owl is likely a given.

Hahahaha, sweet merciful f*ckin' Odin. The Eel..

Look. At. That. Costume.

Christ, you'd be forgiven for thinkin' he's the blind one here.. I don't imagine he's spent any considerable length of time in front of a mirror. I imagine Matt doubled over in side-splitting laughter the first time he "saw" 'em purple an' blue threads. When your costume's capable of sending a blind man into uncontrollable fits of piss-squirting laughter, you probably deserve a small award of some sort. In all seriousness, I'm dying to see Typhoid somewhere down the line. Bat-shit lil' vixen.

I think it'd be a good idea for them to look to the "Out" storyline for inspiration. That's just me, though.

I am really looking forward to a Daredevil tv show. I think it would be amazing if it where to have a serious take on it's characters and it's properties. I like your idea for having Kingpin being manipulative and controlling from behind the scenes and i also like your list of villains to appear on the show. Great work.

@Cles

I also am under the impression that it will only be one season. I think if it does well enough to warrant more, then it may lead to a film.

Also, have they given any indication about how many episodes? I had it in my head that it'd be 13.

@cipher

I agree about Out. Definitely one of the best comic storylines I've read in a long time.

@ruadh

Daredevil has been confirmed to be 13 episodes. I have no idea if it will be the same with the others.

Ah, thank you! There you go then.

I would imagine, especially since he'll probably be the most popular, that the others will all be the same episode order.

13 kinda doesn't seem like a lot, but of course it still gives you more time than even a film trilogy would. So, you get to dwell more on the plot and characters, but probably will less filler and throwaway episodes.

@AstonishingArachnid I'm hoping the Punisher is a re-occuring character across all four shows, providing a link between them - especially since Punisher won't be getting his own series or film.

@Cles Yep, that was the announcement

@ruadh 13 is a lot, there's no need for a tv show to have 20+ episodes as most US shows seem to, you just end uo with a lot of filler. Four shows of 13 episodes each, with crossovers leading into The Defenders would be great.

My Fear.....Marvel Studios is going to ruin Daredevil, at least Fox had the guts to make him dark. 99% chance that Marvel is gonna make him all silly and playful. Sorry but that's not who Daredevil is...or should be.

Marvel made a dark CBM once that failed critically and commercially, even though it is a great movie it seems Marvel looked at that financial failure and swore to never make a serious movie again. *sigh* such a shame to think about what could have been.Not all of the films should be serious, I'm not saying that at all. But these endless action comedies over and over is getting really old. Why not try writing an actual story, with actual depth to it? Instead of hyping a movie to hell and then just handing out jokes and fight scenes.

Anyways, I fear for Daredevil. Knowing Marvel this'll probably be on the level of AOS. (currently the worst show on TV, no questions asked)

@JJ63 Hopefully being a Netflix show will give them a chance to take a more gritty route than they would be able to if it was a cinema released film. A darker, street level collection of shows...
