Hello, this is Loathsome Liam here, and I am going to talk to you about the exciting world of fan-editing!
What is a fan edit? A fan edit is a version of a film modified by a viewer, that removes, reorders, or adds material in order to create a new interpretation of the source material. This includes the removal of scenes or dialogue, replacement of audio and/or visual elements, and adding material from sources such as deleted scenes or even other films (according to Wikipedia).
Although fan editing originally began with making changes or re-editing the the "Star Wars" movies, the concept has extended itself to other films like "Lord of The Rings", "Dune", the "Alien" series, and even some comic book movies like "The Incredible Hulk", "Elektra", "Batman and Robin", and more.
It is suggested that you own a copy of the original film before watching these fan edits. One that I would personally recommend is a fan edit of "The Incredible Hulk" called the Out Of Control cut. The Out of Control cut restores the original opening and adds more scenes that help further develop the characters. I would argue that it's better than the original film.
Anyways, the next time you are bored, I suggest you checkout fanedit.org. It has some interesting takes on films made by fans like you!
