Plot:
As the film starts we see Cybertron in its glory before being destroyed by the war. All of the transformers working together and no sign of war. As the movie progresses, Optimus and Megatron are walking and Megatron begins telling Optimus of a substance called Dark Energon. Optimus tells Megatron of the dangers of the substance but also of its power. Megatron suggests harnessing its power but Optimus disagrees. As Megatron angrily walks away Optimus stares, worried about his brothers thoughts. As night crawls over Cybertron, Megatron brings a small band of warriors containing Starscream, Jetfire, and Soundwave to take a sample of the Dark Energon. As Megatron attempts to remove the sample it latches onto him and begins to corrupt him. As he regains his mind he turns to his fellow warriors and tells them "Prime was too weak...too afraid of this power, but we don’t have to be. Decepticons, I ask of you right now to stand by me as I bring Cybertron to its full potential and fuse the power of this Dark Energon to the power of the Allspark. All of the Decepticons except for Jetfire cheer him on. Jetfire retreats into the shadows and we cut to Optimus Prime standing on the top of a cybertronian skyscraper.
As Optimus stares out at Cybertron Jetfire reaches Optimus and informs him of the intentions of Megatron but he is too late. An army of Decepticons marches on Cybertron and as Jetfire tells Optimus of the Allspark becoming corrupted, he is shot by Starscream, the shot that begins a war that will rage for eons. As the Decepticons get closer Sentinel Prime jumps out onto the frontlines with an army of newly crowned "Autobots joining him. As Optimus jumps down he sees that Megatron is not present. He realizes that he is headed for the Allspark and this is all just a ruse. As Optimus prepares to leave for the Allspark chamber he picks a few autobots for his elite squad. "Jazz, you will act as commander of the elite squad in my absence, Ironhide man the heavy artillerary stations, Sideswipe, take Arcee for stealth attacks, Ratchet and Bumblebee, do all you can to heal the fallen brothers and above all, never surrender!" Optimus transforms and drives off as the camera follows Starscream and Jetfire flying over head giving the audience a view of the entire war torn battlefield.
After showing a few minutes of the battle the camera switches to Megatron entering the Allspark chamber with Optimus standing in front of it, wielding his axe in one hand and his rifle in the other. As Megatron lectures Optimus about how he was weak and feeble to understand the true power of Cybertron, Optimus charges at him and grabs him, throwing him out of the chamber. As Megatron gets up, we see Optimus Grabbing the Allspark, making it small and storing it inside his chest (in G1 style). Megatron charges at him, but Optimus has a plan. As Megatron latches onto him, Optimus uses the Allspark to create a jetpack and the camera cuts to the roaring battle above ground. We see nice shots of sideswipe taking on many decepticons in his usual cocky manner, and ironhide commanding the recruits in the turret station. Ratchet is healing a few comrades as Bumblebee fights barricade. As Bumblebee gets distracted trying to save a fellow autobot, Soundwave shoots his chest, not killing him, but damaging his vocal processors. As bumblebee rises the ground begins to rumble and Optimus and Megatron soar through the air in a slow-mo shot.
As the battle between the forces rages on the camera zooms to the battle between Optimus and Megatron in outer space above cybertron. As they have a climactic battle that rages for a good 3-4 minutes, Optimus shoots Megatron, and then does a 360 spin, slams his axe into his chest and throws him into the far reaches of space.
As he flies back to Cybertron, he sees the decepticons have retreated after their leader killed by Prime, some fleeing the planet, others killing themselves. Now that Cybertron is ravaged and not able to sustain life, Sentinel takes a few autobots on the ark and flies off. Optimus, sideswipe, Bumblebee, Ratchet, Ironhide, Jetifre, Arcee and Jazz stay behind to help escort the other autobots off of Cybertron. Once they are all evacuated, Optimus tells the remaining autobots to diverge and locate a planet to support life. Optimus sends the Allspark to the nearest planet, Earth. Optimus instructs Bumblebee to go to earth and serve as the guardian to keep it safe from any remaining decepticons. The other Autobots split up and travel to all different planets. As the film reaches its end, we see Megatrons emergency nav system kick in and head him for Earth, the nearest planet, he crashes into the arctic and an ice barrier forms around him thanks to his defensive systems, just as Archibald Witwicky and his crew reach the arctic. Bumblebee is seen leaving the other autobots, transforming into vehicle mode and flying to earth as the screen dims, the Transformers logo flashes on the screen and the credits begin to roll.
