What The New Amazing Spider- Man 2 Costume Means To Future CBM's

A while ago The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Costume was released. I wanted to point out what the costume means to future CBM’s adaptations and future Spider-Man movies.

About two years ago the first Amazing Spiderman costume was released and everyone was at ends about the design. The new costume was released and about everyone is on the same side. The new costume is great but what does that mean to the future of comic book movies.

Expectations for future Spider-Man films

When the reboot was announced the costume had a lot to live up to. The movie costume I grew up with and others did was the Raimi costume. I for one did not have a problem with the reboot costume since I could understand that this was realistic and that this was a prototype for the Spiderman that was going to come or become. Now the sequel costume came out and it sets something to build off on. It’s the first costume in the franchise to be really close to the comics. It has the big white eyes, the colors (maybe it should have a better shade of blue), and the symbol. It makes it hard for future Spidey movies to top. If they have black indented webbing in the sequel it’s going to be hard for the next reboot. Maybe one day we could see the Iron Spider costume or the webbing under his arm or they could get the black suit right but anything could happen.

What it means to future CBM's

In 2008 the movie to define how superhero movie were going to be like for the next 5 years was The Dark Knight. It is a great movie but it still made movie studios make very bad decisions which caused Dark Knight replica movies trying to make all CBM's realistic and dark and gritty. The costumes had to be real and had to make since in realistic world. The Avenger's were the first movie so far to break that and made it where it was what if these people were in our world not how would this person come to be in our world. The new Spider-Man costume is next to make this happen and the costume has white eyes and the webbing on it but not a costume that apologizes that its a superhero costume, not trying to make up for it with complex designs that's not close to the comics.

Oh Yeah, the White Eyes

For years costume designers has struggled with white eyes on superheroes. They've been using the actors eyes with make up but saying that the only reason they've did it was to convey emotions (I don't think they've heard of emotive eyes, they almost did it in Spider-Man 2002). The new Spidey suit has the white eyes which looks really cool instead of the reflective ones. The new suit took more liberties and risks but with a good outcome. Costume designers are being told not to start off from scratch and only using the outline as a base but look where it came from in the comics. It would be cool to see white eyes in Batman's mask instead of just an easter egg of sonar vision or on Green Lantern domino's mask, or Robin's and not just in fan films. White eyes has been around since the 40s since the Spirit and would be sad to see it go away. That's what I think the new Spidey costume would mean to future CBM's.

Superman is the only suit I think the filmmakers ever got exactly right...until TASM2 photos came out.

TASM2 suit is exactly wat I envisioned for TASM1. I did not like that suit, but I accepted it because it's a Spider-man movie. The thing about these WHITE eyes/lenses is that I hope it doesn't look too cartoony in the final reel.
On a second note, I don't like the idea of making a costume so realistic that it differs from the original. I understand the need to give it some realism, but these genre of movies are pure escapism. Why not make a costume similar to the comics, just with minor adjustments. Avengers did it. Sure Cap's costume wasn't the best, but that is not becaus they decided to copy the exact costume from the comics.
Long live the MCU, & hopefully the DC CU will now catch up

What superhero movies after TDK were real and gritty like TDK? Only one I can think of is TDKR.

I was watching a video on set of TASM2 and the suit was on set and I was able to pause it and saw( from a distance) it has no belt. So it's not completely perfect but it's close, although I'm not sure if my eyes were kidding me. If you've seen the belt( which I've seen some of post saying you have) see if you can post a pic cause I'm tired of all these shots above the waist

honestly does it really matter guys? raimis spiderman suit was fine the silver webbing is the only thing that is really bothersome. tasm 1 was a cool and realistic take on a kid creating a suit from looking at athletes in spandex. like he basically just bought some spandex and sewed the logo and webbing on. this next suit looks great, but seriously the whites of the eyes are that important? he needs to have a belt? you have the comics and the tv showes and you have it in live action. be happy that its happening at all haha.
