A2K's 'Batman'

A2K's 'Batman'

For my 3rd article I've decided to cast the world of the Batman of my DC cinematic universe

As previously said, I'm a fan of both DC and Marvel, though lean slightly more to DC given my preference for the World's Finest. Regardless, whilst I'm pretty happy with the output we're getting in terms of both companies' films, I'll admit every now and then they've cast a role that just hasn't sat well with me.

Long story short, for this cast I've decided to cast a potential director as well as (most of) the primary heroes and villains of the Batman mythos, and essentially, who I'd like to appear in the cinematic universe, but for the sake of originality I've gone with completely different choices than the actors/actresses that have been cast already despite however much I like/dislike them.

Anyway, enjoy and leave a comment/thumbs up below!

Frank Darabont | The Director
Notable Credits: The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Mist, The Walking Dead, Mob City

Frank Darabont | The Director by A-2-K

Darabont is very great director who I think would be an ideal candidate for this position. He’s proven himself to be a great dramatic storyteller and has shown a penchant for many genres which Batman would fall in too. Whilst he hasn't necessarily done anything full on in action, he's shown a clearl penchant for the 'detective noir' genre, as seen in the much overlooked Mob City, and this personally just makes me think he'd do brillliant in showcasing why/how Batman is the world's great detective. So, he may not be the name on everyone’s lips but in my eyes he’s the best choice to bring a gritty, serious yet fantastical take on the Dark Knight to the big screen, and someone I hope, at least is in contention for the part once Warner Bros. finally decide to start their new Batman series.

The Good:

Anson Mount | Bruce Wayne aka Batman
Notable Credits: Hell on WheelsSafeNon-Stop

Batman by A-2-K

Mount has nailed it in pretty much everything I've seen him in. Admittedly, I haven't seen him in much, but what little I have showed how capable an actor he is, and also proved how good he is at playing intense, intelligent and badass characters.

Personally, he's one of the few actors that I can genuinely see playing a definitive Batman, and no not 'Bat-God', I mean the tactical genius from comics like Superman: Red SonJustice League: Tower of Babel, and Batman: Hush.

Jonathan Hyde | Alfred Pennyworth
Notable Credits: Richie RichJumanjiThe MummyThe Strain

Alfred Pennyworth by A-2-K

I’ve previously cast Hyde as an incarnation of this character for my DCCU, so obviously I’ve cast him again, but to the uninitiated, Hyde is a really great actor. He always adds the perfect touch of class to his roles and is consistent in his performances; I think he’d be very fitting and memorable here, as he’s more than capable of doing a lot with a little and has played very similar characters before very well.

David Harewood | Lucius Fox
Notable Credits: Blood Diamond, Homeland

Lucius Fox by A-2-K

I’ll admit to not having seen Harewood in too much, but what little I have has definitely displayed how fitting he is for a role like this. Harewood is a very capable dramatic actor and comes as very weathered and knowledgeable if not always likeable, and that is something which I feel would allow him to put a new spin on this role and just help make it his own.

Bryan Cranston | James Gordon
Notable Credits: Malcolm in the Middle, Breaking Bad, Drive

James Gordon by A-2-K

Obviously this one casting decision that has been done to death, and understandably, in some people’s eyes Cranston is overqualified for this role, but granted he’s previously voiced the character and is a visual embodiment as well as fantastic actor, it must just be said; there really is no better choice.

Mackenzie Davis | Barbara Gordon aka Oracle
Notable Credits: That Awkward Moment, Halt and Catch Fire

Oracle by A-2-K

I’ve not seen Davis in much, but she’s a very enigmatic young actress who I feel could bring a lot of depth to the role and shine as the Batman’s eyes and ears. Her work in Halt and Catch Fire personally showed me what she’d be capable if cast and frankly, it’s something that I think would do nothing but benefit her in this role and just further makes me want to see her get the part.

Timothée Chalamet | Tim Drake aka Robin
Notable Credits: Homeland, Interstellar

Robin (Drake) by A-2-K

Chalamet is a relatively new up and comer, but has most certainly gotten some big roles already and worked them serviceably well. Whilst I haven’t necessarily seen enough of him to confirm if he’d be perfect choice for this role, going on what I have seen, he’s definitely talented and would prove to be an interesting watch at the very least.

Nicola Peltz | Stephanie Brown aka Batgirl
Notable Credits: Bates Motel, Transformers: Age of Extinction

Batgirl (Brown) by A-2-K

Whilst Peltz is now mainly known as being Michael Bay's new 'It' girl, she's previously proven herself to be a competent young actress as seen by her work in Bates Motel- whilst not necessarly anything revolutionary, it's clear she's got talent and I think she'd be able to do something interesting with a role like this.

Kit Harington | Dick Grayson aka Nightwing
Notable Credits:
Game of Thrones, Seventh Son, Pompeii

Nightwing by A-2-K

Harington is a pretty popular and appropriate choice for this role. He’s previously showed interest in playing Batman, albeit a less serious version and by all rights that makes me think he’d work better as Nightwing, at his core that is what he is. Anyway, with Harington at the helm, I think he’d more than do the character justice and definitely bring the right balance of humour and drama to the role and just put a very definitive stamp on the character too.

Emmy Rossum | Helena Bertinelli aka Huntress
Notable Credits:  The Day After Tomorrow, Beautiful Creatures, Shameless

Huntress by A-2-K

To some Rossum is a bit of a strange choice for this role, but given her more recent filmography and her talents as an actress, it just feels highly appropriate. She can do sweet, saucy, dramatic and comedic all very well and as said before she’s just very talented and I think she’d just shine in the role very brightly.

Sammy Williams | Damian Wayne
Notable Credits: The Take, Wild Bill

Damian Wayne by A-2-K

Williams is relatively unknown young actor but from his work in The Take and Wild Bill, I can’t help but think he’s the definitive choice for this role. He’s a talented young lad and can do serious and light very well and most importantly has previously played disturbed characters with anger issues before.

So, whilst I’m not quite keen on a Damian Wayne Robin (without Tim Drake getting his cinematic dues first), if ever the character is introduced, Williams most definitely appears to be the way to go.

Evangeline Lilly | Selina Kyle aka Catwoman
Notable Credits: Lost, Real Steel, The Hobbit Series

Catwoman by A-2-K

Casting this role was a little tough for myself but if I was to think of anyone actress who could play the part perfectly, no one else other than Lilly comes to mind. She’s a highly talented and versatile actress and is more than capable of being serious as well as funny/goofy, and given her more recent filmography she’s also proven herself as highly capable with action. The fact that she is very easy on the eyes also helps and further makes me think there is no better than her for the role.

The Bad:

Michael Pitt | The Joker
Notable Credits: Funny GamesBoardwalk EmpireHannibal

The Joker by A-2-K

Whilst a little younger for my liking, Pitt is very gifted actor and definitely someone who excels in dark roles such as this, so despite his 'youth' if he was cast, make up could always age him up a bit. Anyway, he can play charismatic, engaging, dark, funny and very, very scary very well, so is definitely someone I had in mind for the role- the fact that he greatly resembles the current incarnation of the character is something that just further reinforces the idea of me wanting to see what he could do here.

Candice Accola | Harleen Quinzel aka Harley Quinn
Notable Credits: The Vampire Diaries

Harley Quinn by A-2-K

Whilst again, a little younger from my liking, from what little I’ve seen of Accola, I can definitely see her working this role very well. She’s capable of doing light and easy as well darker characters and has a very natural ‘bubbly’ vibe to her, that added with the fact that she reminds me a great deal of the original DCAU incarnation of the character also helps and makes me think she’d at the very least be an interesting watch.

Andrew Lincoln | Harvey Dent aka Two-Face
Notable Credits: Love Actually, Strike Back, The Walking Dead

Two-Face by A-2-K

With his work in The Walking Dead Lincoln has pretty much auditioned for this role already; there he perfectly plays a good man gone bad (and even good again), and frankly that’s more than applicable in the case of Two-Face. Lincoln is clearly a talented dramatic actor and comes off as pretty badass too, so if cast in a role like this I can really see him putting is heart and soul into and at the very least just serving as a very memorable character.

Stephen Graham | Oswald Cobblepot aka the Penguin
Notable Credits: Snatch, This is England, Boardwalk Empire

I’ll admit to casting Graham mainly as I do want to see him reunited cinematically to some extent with Pitt, but ignoring that he’s a great actor who can also stand on his own merits. As said by Martin Scorsese, he’s the ‘British Joe Pesci’, and as such would most definitely own in this role; whilst he doesn’t quite have the nose for it, like Danny DeVito I’d imagine makeup would help in that department.

Cole Hauser | Roman Sionis aka Black Mask
Notable Credits: Pitch Black, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Chase

Black Mask by A-2-K

Hauser is a very overlooked actor, who for some reason has pretty much disappeared in recent years, but from his earlier filmography, in particularly 2 Fast 2 Furious, I really think he’d be a brilliant addition to the Batman mythos in this role. The fact that he also reminds me a great deal of the Arkham Origins incarnation of the character also helps, but either way it’s evident he’s an actor who can bring the right amount of physicality and intensity needed for this role.

Eddie Redmayne | Edward Nygma aka the Riddler
Notable Credits: The Pillars of the Earth, The Theory of Everything, Jupiter Ascending

Redmayne is the perfect choice for me for this role; he’s got the right kind of cerebral quality and as seen by his work in The Theory of Everything and even the lacklustre Jupiter Ascending he’s more than well suited for a role like this. Again my only real criticism is that he’s a little young (looking at least) then what I had in mind, but then again, for a role like this I think that kind of works; I always did see the Riddler as being smug/arrogant, and youth could always help with that.

Katharine Isabelle | Pamela Isley aka Poison Ivy
Notable Credits: American Mary, Hannibal

Isabelle is a relatively unknown actress but she’s one of the few actresses that I can think of that can bring the perfect balance of smarts, class and seductiveness to this role. She’s obviously very easy on the eyes but fortunately is also pretty talented and enigmatic and would definitely prove to be interesting to see if nothing else.

Harry Treadaway | Jonathan Crane aka the Scarecrow
Notable Credits: Penny Dreadful

I’ve not see Treadaway in much but I really liked his take on Frankenstein in Penny Dreadful, whilst not necessarily similar to Scarecrow, it more than showed off his talents and proved his capability as playing a creepy intellectual. So, if given the chance here, I think he’d definitely be able to do something interesting and just help craft a new and unique take on this villain.

Aaron Paul | Victor Zsasz
Notable Credits: Breaking Bad, Need for Speed, Exodus: Gods and Kings

Given Paul isn’t necessarily an intimidating individual, I can understand why a lot of people may not dig this choice, but frankly given his rollercoaster performance as Jessie Pinkman, I think he genuinely is the perfect choice for this role. He’s capable of doing funny, intense and broken all very well, and whilst all these factors aren’t necessarily attributable to Zsasz, they most definitely act as a testament to Paul’s talents, and frankly, that alone makes me want to see what he could potentially do in this role.

Jack O’Connell | Jason Todd aka the Red Hood
Notable Credits: Skins, Starred Up, 71, 300: Rise of an Empire

O’Connell is another British actor that I’ve now cast as a former Robin, but for this role in particular, I can think of no better choice. He’s a great young actor who’s finally getting the mainstream attention he deserves, and with his work in Starred Up in particularly, I think simply put, he’d shine as the kid Batman couldn’t help.

Toby Stephens | Tommy Elliot aka Hush
Notable Credits: Die Another Day, The Machine, Black Sails

Hush by A-2-K

Since seeing Stephens back in the bipolar Die Another Day I thought he’d be great as Hush. I mean, he’s pretty much played the part before, and is also a pretty talented actor, but given he can also play cerebral, smug, charming and tough all very well too, casting him here most definitely feels appropriate.

Norman Reedus | Floyd Lawton aka Deadshot
Notable Credits: The Boondocks Saints Series, The Walking Dead

This is far from an original casting decision but it works. Reedus is badass, funny and roguish; that more than works for Deadshot, and given his notoriety in The Walking Dead, I can definitely see him making the character a household name.

Jude Law | Onomatopoeia
Notable Credits: AI: Artificial IntelligenceRoad to PerditionRepo MenThe Sherlock Holmes Series, Don Hemingway

With his work in Road to Perdition and Repo Men in particularly, Law’s proven his talents for this role. He’s highly versatile and talented and can playing everything from creepy to charming and badass to hilarious all very well, so with a character as unique as this, I think he’s genuinely one of the few actors that can make it work legitimately.

Nick Tarabay | Morgan Ducard aka Nobody
Notable Credits: Spartacus, Burn Notice, Arrow, Person of Interest

To the uninitiated, granted this character is a New 52 creation, it’s worth note, as evidenced by his name he is Henry Ducard’s son, and also a rival of Batman’s who ultimately looks to corrupt Batman’s protégées due to his dislike for Batman’s style of crime fighting.

So, with that covered, Nick Tarabay? He’s no stranger to the DCU, but ignoring that he’s a solid actor and is great at playing villains you love to hate; he’s played badass, conniving, manipulative and creepy all pretty well and when it gets down to it, given his ethnicity and his talents, he is most definitely a fitting choice for this role.

Brad Pitt | Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke
Notable Credits: SnatchFight ClubTroyInglorious BasterdsFury

Brad Pitt | Deathstroke by A-2-K

Since David Ayer was announced as the director for The Suicide Squad I’ve greatly wanted Pitt for this role. He’s charismatic, tough, badass and just oozes swagger; to me that pretty much sums up what Deathstroke is, and personally, Pitt as a villain is just something so enticing it needs to happen again.

Ed Skrein | Charles Graham aka Prometheus
Notable Credits: Ill ManorsGame of ThronesThe Transporter Legacy (upcoming)

Skrein is a relatively unknown but he’s proven himself to be a solid young performer and like Pitt has a very confident swagger to him that just feels highly appropriate for this role. Whilst it might be a bit early to say, he also does appear to fit the role physically also, so by all rights, is definitely someone I’d consider for this character.

Christoph Waltz | Victor Fries aka Mr Freeze
Notable Credits: Inglorious BasterdsDjango Unchained, Spectre (upcoming)

What can be said here that hasn’t been said already? Waltz is a really great actor and shines in villainous roles and has most definitely proven his talents time and time again. In a role like this, I can only see him elevating the character and frankly, given his last cinematic outing that is more than necessary.

Kevin Greivoux | Waylon Jones aka Killer Croc
Notable Credits: The Underworld Series

Once more a choice that isn’t exactly original, but definitely more than fitting. Whilst I only known Greivoux from his work in The Underworld Series and am aware he’s not exactly too great an actor, it must be said, he is definitely serviceable and is good at what he does; being big and intimidating. For a role like this, not much else is needed and I think at the very least if someone like Grevioux is at the helm, we’d at the very least get a tough and cool villain for the Bat to face.

Robert Knepper | Basil Carlo aka Clayface
Notable Credits: Prison Break, Heroes, Transporter 3, Mob City, Arrow

Once again, another character who isn’t exactly a stranger to the DCU, but one that I think would work this role brilliantly despite any CGI restraints. As seen by his role in Prison Break specifically, Knepper is a really brilliant character actor who’s great at playing creepy and sleazy characters. Whilst that’s not necessarily applicable for this role, I think he could make it applicable and just deliver a very unique and dark take on a character that may otherwise come off as cheesy and gimmicky.

Liev Schreiber | Lincoln March aka the Owl King
Notable Credits: The Manchurian Candidate, Repo Men, Salt, Ray Donovan

To the uninitiated, again, this character is another New 52 creation, and is basically the Court of Owls’ (Gotham’s premiere secret society) protégée and subsequently, an enemy of Batman’s.

With Schreiber, whilst to some he may be a bit of a strange choice for this role, given his work in The Manchurian Candidate specifically, I think he is the ideal choice for this role. He’s physically very imposing, a greatly talented dramatic actor, and knows how to play badass and intimidating all very well, so personally, I’d be more than willing to see him take on this role.

Mads Mikklesen | Ra’s Al Ghul
Notable Credits: Casino RoyaleValhalla RisingHannibal

Ra's Al Ghul by A-2-K

Another casting choice that was a little young to my liking, but more than appropriate. Mads is great at playing villains and generally dark characters, as seen through the bulk of his filmography, so in a role like this, I think it’s safe to say he’d do nothing but ‘add another notch on his belt’.

Olga Kurylenko | Talia Al Ghul
Notable Credits: Hitman, Quantum of Solace, Centurion, Oblivion

Kurylenko is a solid actress who knows how to play the part of a femme fatale extremely well and has also proven her action capabilities well in the past too. Whilst this can be said to be somewhat of a safe choice, it evidently still works, and if ever the character is reintroduced, I think Kurylenko would be an ideal choice.

Edgar Ramirez | Bane
Notable Credits: The Bourne Ultimatum, Vantage Point, Carlos, Wrath of the Titans

Bane by A-2-K

Again, I’ll admit to have gone for an actor that’s pretty popular for this role, but frankly in terms of a new casting choice, Ramirez is highly appropriate. He’s a pretty badass actor and definitely talented dramatically, whilst not quite as big as the comic book incarnation, given the right movie magic, I’m more than confident he’d own the role and put his own unique spin on it.

So, with that done, please leave a comment/thumbs up below!

You've done it again, man. Most of these casting choices are spot on and original. Only thing I don't see happening is Michael Pitt as the Joker. Sure, the kid's a great actor and he's phenomenal in Boardwalk Empire, but I couldn't treat his character seriously back when he was Mason Verger. Personally, I'd go for Michael Massee, but that's just me. Other than that, great job.

Good introduction to your fancast, very nicely put.
Really good Director i'm sure he would do good with a comic book movie.
Its a good fancast. A few actors I have seen in the same roles as yours in other fancasts but that doesn't mean that they are bad.
I always look out for the unique choices and the following stick out to me as really good ones:

Jack O'Connell as Jason Todd, Eddie Redmayne as Edward Nygma aka the Riddler, Stephen Graham as Oswald Cobblepot aka the Penguin, Andrew Lincoln as Harvey Dent aka Two-Face.

Well done and thumbs up.

I'm unfamiliar with your Batman choice though.

@A2K Great cast man! LOVE Mount as Bats, especially as an established Batman that's been around for a while with plenty of experience, can totally get that vibe from him.

Based on looks alone I like your choice for Alfred but I haven't seen him in anything, but I trust your judgement.

Cranston I'm actually beginning to dislike in the role of Gordon, not that he isn't a perfect candidate for it but just because he's been cast in it so much!

Not much knowledge of the actors you've chosen for sidekicks bar Harington who I think would do an adequate job in the role.

Pitt I can definitely see as The Joker, LOVE Lincoln as Dent, great choice there.

Redmayne would make a fantastic Riddler! Although my favourite choice for the moment would be Jake Gyllenhaal after seeing him in Nightcrawler.

My favourite choice however is definitely Toby Stephens as Hush. Spot on.

Keep an eye out for my Batman fan cast man, should be up in a day or twos time

- Can't really get into Hell on Wheels to give a crap about Anson Mount.
- I like Cranston, but let's retire the idea of him as James Gordon. Let's try something new. Like Kevin Bacon? He does well in a similar role in The Following.
- Speaking of which, I nominate Jessica Stroup as Oracle. She plays the character essentially on The Following.
- Peltz needs a shit load of acting lessons before gracing us in a Batman movie. I would go with Olivia Holt (Kickin' It and I Didn't Do It) for Stephanie Brown. She even has a black belt in martial arts.

- Meh, Emmy's too good for a small role like Huntress. I'd go with Phoebe Tonkin. As an actress, she's got a strong air of mystery and darkness to her.

- I'm sorta with PrinceAwesome. Maybe I'll have to watch his work in Hannibal to see what he can offer to play the Joker.
- Thank God you have my choice for Harley Quinn! It's fitting, since Candice's character on The Vampire Diaries stepped into the dark side. Now I WANT to see her try the role out. Besides, she has the crazy eyes, unlike Margot Robbie (just because she has the accent in Wolf of Wall Street doesn't automatically make her a Harley Quinn choice, but I'll wait, because I'm incredibly stoked for Suicide Squad). Oh, and forget about age, because Accola is 28 this year.
- I thought about Lincoln as Two Face as well!
- Did Martin Scorcese really call Stephen Graham the "British Joe Pesci"? When was this? Maybe I can get on board with this afterwards. For now, I like to see Mark Sheppard take the reins, since Crowley from Supernatural has shades of the Arkhamverse take on Penguin.
- Cole Hauser may also be my choice for Black Mask.
- Eddie's getting so much love after playing Stephen Hawking. He could be grandiose as the Riddler.
- I haven't seen Katharine Isabelle in anything. What about Elena Satine? After her work as Lorelei in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., she's more than qualified. And here's a Photoshop of her as Poison Ivy!

- I swear, I thought this was Colin Morgan as your choice for Scarecrow. That said, I'm a fan of Penny Dreadful, and the stars need some good roles for CBMs.
- I've also thought of Aaron Paul as Zsasz. I can't believe you didn't list his work in The Last House on the Left, because he played a serial killer in that movie. Whatevs!
- Jack O'Connell. As in Louis Zamperini Jack O'Connell? Judging by your mission statement, I'd be more than down with him as Red Hood. But my other chooice would be Alexander Ludwig, because of The Hunger Games and Final Girl.
- Me, I would be down for Bradley Cooper as Deadshot. American Sniper is my defense. Anyone who's played Chris Kyle and succeeded deserves a shot to play another gun-wielding expert.
- I'm unsure about Brad Pitt as Deathstroke. He could work, but I'd like someone with grey/silver hair in the role. What about Ray Stevenson? He's played an assassin in The Punisher: Warzone, a man with vengeance on his mind in Dexter's next to last season, and an evil soldier in G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra.
- Can't believe Jason Statham retired the Transporter. I'll have to see what Ed Skrein has to offer. And I don't know Prometheus from a hole in the wall, so by all means, keep the choice!
- Nice to see Robert Knepper get a fresh and enjoyable role to play instead of the thousandth psycho role.
- Don't be ashamed of going for a young Ra's al Ghul. My choices would be Oded Fehr (who voiced the character in Young Justice and Sendhill Ramamurthy.
- Olga really has yet to impress me. How about Janina Gavankar. After Far Cry 4, she's a dead ringer.

All in all, a wonderful cast!

Whilst I've always felt you over use the word whilst :), I am a big fan of your fancasts. I mean, this is huge. I love almost every choice and can surely get behind EVERY one. I'd love to see these non-cannon picks become a part of what DC is creating; it might actually get me excited rather than "supportive". And holy moly, I love Katherine Isabelle. I want her in anything and everything. I was thinking she'd be a good Batgirl a few weeks ago. I must've seen her in something. Ever since Ginger Snaps I've thought she was great. All-star cast; great job

Thanks, shame you didn't like that choice.

@ Kong
Lol, thank you.

@ PrinceAwesome
Thank you kind sir- Massee would certainly be interesting but I didn't want someone that old, admittedly I initally aimed for someone the same age as Mount, but obviously that didn't quite work lol.

@ SimplyAz
Thanks man, I'm glad you aprove of those choices; had a slight weird feeling they'd be a little off to some.

@ CombatWombat
I think every straight man in the world agress with that sentiment lol... Mount is admittedly not too famous but as mentioned up top, Hell on Wheels and Safe are great examples of what he could bring to the role.

@ Arrowverse
Thanks... I guess?

@ MrMurdock
Thanks man; can certainly understand the criticisms you've got but glad you approve of the bulk of the cast.

Will most certainly give your Bat-cast a look, but it must be said, Jake Gyllenhaal as Riddler is very cool- I like him as Captain America, but Nightcrawler definitely shows how he'd work there.

@ MikeZ
Fair enough; if not Hell on Wheels, Mount's also proven how badass he is in Safe, at the very least that'd give you a slight indication as to what he could do in the role.

Kevin Bacon is very interesting for Gordon, I hadn't thought of that before, but I can see it, though I think he comes off a little younger than what I had in mind for this cast- think he'd be more appropriate for a slightly younger Batman.

Stroup doesn't quite do it for me as Oracle, not quite sure who I'd cast her as in the Bat-family but she's talented so does deserve a spot somewhere...

Lol; that actually made me laugh, but yeah obviously Transformers is hardly a testament to good acting for anyone, but if you haven't seen her in Bates Motel, I'd suggest you give it a look; admitteldy nothing mindblowing, but she's competent and fairly talented- I'm not familiar with Holt though so didn't even consider her.

Tonkin was actually someone I considered but she looks fairly young; I always imagined Huntress to be a little older than say Oracle, and Rossum does that as well as being a good actress- can actually see her and MacKenzie forming part of a Birds of Prey series.

Highly recommend you do so; it was just very creepily weird.

Accola is certainly a fine choice, but I'm more than interested in Robbie's take, she admittedly hasn't quite got Accola's 'zanniness' but overall comes off as the more talented actress.

Glad you dig him there.

I can't remember where I read it but I most certainley remember either Graham or Scorsese saying it somewhere, either way, his talents speaks for him well, though Sheppard is interesting, but I dont know... I feel he might play the role a little too much on the cheesy side.

Hauser is certainly a fine role for it.

Glad you dig it.

I think Satine is overrated and am honestly not a fan, plus she does this 'overtly sexual' thing, whereas I prefer someone who does it more subtly like Isabelle; again she's another Hannibal actress but from what I've seen she seems like she can bring a great cerebral quality too.

Ah that explains it lol, got me a bit confused intially.

I haven't actually see The Last House on the Left; it was actually those episodes where he played a broken/intense Jesse that made me think he'd shine as Zsasz, but glad you like it lol.

Glad you like it- Ludwig would be interesting too, but I didn't really consider him as he's still got a bit of kid-face if that makes sense... lol...

Cooper is too big an actor for someone like Deadshot, I think that'd be a bit off like Will Smith feels at the moment- I'm sure there is a CBM role out there for him, but honestly I can't say who.

Prometheus is basically an anti-Batman; Skrein's not too famous for his action prowes as his filmography isn't even that developed admittedly, but from The Transporter: Refueled trailer he seems capable, and his filmography that I've seen shows he can play smug and cocky like the character, so that obviously led to me casting him.

Glad you like Knepper there.

Both you Ra's choices are interesting (more so Fehr), but yh I love my casting choice lol, it's just I feel his youth slightly undercuts his presence, and with someone like Ra's you know you need a presence.

I don't actually know who Gavankar is, but she looks hot, so that's something lol...

Anyway, thanks man glad you like it!

- Safe? Haven't seen that film, so who am I to judge your pick?
- Well, my choice for Batman is obviously Liam McIntyre, so Kevin Bacon would probably be the right age considering my cinematic universe's Batman is in his 30's. So, good point after all.
- You serious? Max Hardy is much like Barbara Gordon, an accomplice to a vigilante. I probably should've said that. But at least you don't hate her too much. :)
- Well, funny enough, Peltz was my initial choice for Stephanie Brown, but people came down on me, because not only did she ruin the Transformers franchise, she ruined Avatar: The Last Airbender. I don't mind her in Bates Motel, but she's got a long way to go before she can shake the presence of being a vapid-sounding dingbat. And here's Olivia Holt if you need to know more:

- Tonkin's due to reach 26 years old. I'd focus more on her work in The Originals if you're hung up on The Secret Circle, where her voice in the former - especially in season 2 - has some grit. And she's 5' 10" too.
- Well, I just finished season 1, and am due to catch the next one, so I'll reserve judgment.
- I wanna give Margot the benefit of the doubt. But it feels like they went with her based on her It girl status. I'll reserve judgment for Suicide Squad, because I'm stoked, but I think if Warner Brothers went with someone like Accola, it would've been a daring choice to choose someone from the CW for an iconic comic book character.
- Satine is overrated? I just heard about in 2010 when she was considered to play Mary Jane, and after that? No mention of her. I do agree about subtlety. Maybe I'll see how Katharine Isabelle does in Hannibal, because again, I'll be catching up on season 2 of the show through Netflix.
- Well, it's a shitty remake of a Wes Craven classic, but it gave me a good idea what he can do. I still stand by your decision.
- Ludwig's face is off-putting at first, but again, after seeing him in The Hunger Games and Final Girl, I couldn't help but see him play another vicious anti-hero

- Well, Deadshot is field leader of the Suicide Squad after all, so Will Smith/Bradley Cooper makes the most sense. At least for a Suicide Squad movie.
- Good points! That's why I went with those two. They both are of Arabic decent, which would be necessary for a proper adaptation of Ra's.
- Well, Gavankar plays Amita in Far Cry 4, and she comes off like Talia al Ghul with her obligation to a cause. Check out these scenes. And like my Ra's al Ghul, she has the right and proper heritage of the character's comic book origins.

Great cast, man! I was hoping you'd post more fancasts after MCU and DCU casts. I'll be keeping a look out for more hopefully! Anyways, here's a few that really stick out for me:

- Mackenzie Davis as Oracle
- Timothée Chalamet as Robin
- Michael Pitt as Joker
- Andrew Lincoln as Two-Face
- Eddie Redmayne as Riddler
- Jack O'Connell as Red Hood
- Brad Pitt as Deathstroke

Pretty inspired and original choices. Awesome job, keep up with the good work!

It's one of Jason Statham's more subtle good films, but Mount is basically an elite assassin there; skill-wise not a far cry from what I'd imagine he'd do as the Bat.

I like McIntyre as an actor and hell yeah, he'd work well with someone like Bacon, but I think he'd work better as a more rough round the edges hero; Green Arrow seems more fitting in that respect.

Oh I definitely see where you're coming from with the Max Hardy argument, it's just whilst Stroup comes off as relatively smart, I don't see her as being Barbara Gordon smart- Halt and Catch Fire just really stressed how Mackenzie is good in that respect, and that's something which stuck with me.

Lol, fair enough.

I can see where you're coming from...

With Satine being overrated, I mean in terms of comic book movie casting; everytime someone casts a redhead character, she seems to be the go-to-girl, and I think it's safe to say she's not really that great an actress to be given such favour, sure she's got the right kind of look but I just don't see the appeal other than that.

Oh okay, cool lol.

It could work, can definitely see where you're coming from in that sense, but that face though lol...

With Deadshot even then, someone like Cooper or Smith seem too charismatic and charming, I've always seen Deadshot as badass and roughish rather than that; I guess the best way to put it is, like comparing Gambit to Tony Stark- Cooper and Smith are more Stark-like than they are Gambit-like to me.

Hmm... Gavankar ain't too shabby...

@chrismatj
Thanks man; I do have a few more in mind, so obviously keep your eyes peeled, but glad you like the cast and those choices!

Great cast man! The only thing I'd change is Kit Harrington as Nightwing, maybe even just have him swap roles with Jack O'Connell.

Thanks man, though cast them in that light as O'Connell seems better suited to damaged characters whereas Harrington obviously looks the part plus seems like someone who knows how to keep it lighter, if that makes sense...

Tbh I enjoy all the casting choices you made really, but there's something abouy thr guy who you picked as Batman that's genuinely unique. Like in his photo you can see in the eyes thar he's genuinely ready to kick your ass, and that's pretty damn scary holy shit.

Great cast, man. Jonathan Hyde made me laugh. Not because he's a bad choice, because he is perfect for Alfred, it just made me think that Bruce was an older Richie Rich (with his parents almost being murdered and all).
Love the Toby Stephens pick. Reminded me that I wish he was still young enough to play Hal Jordan because he embodies the role for me.

Thank you; funnily enough, I kind of had that in mind in casting Hyde lol. Anyway, glad you dig Stephens there- he'd actually be fantastic as Hal, does look a lot like Ivan Reis' incarnation, though acting-wise and what not he comes off smarter than Hal; always figured for someone like Hal, you'd be looking at a smarter Human Torch, if that makes sense lol...

- Darabont would be an incredible director to tackle batman
- I like Anson, he'd be alright, he'd also be a good Jonah Hex or Punisher.
- I dig Jonathan, great Alfred.
- I've use David as Lucius before.
- At this point Cranston is a bit overplayed as Gordon, and with Darabont Directing Jeffrey DeMunn would certainly get this role.
- I dig Davis as an actress, great perfect choice for Babs.
- Great Tim and Stephanie Choices.
- I am baised towards Kit, he's a great actor.
- I'd dig seeing Emmy in a dark role like that.
- Watch the kid from Looper, Pierce Gagnon, he'd be perfect for Damian.
- I am iffy on Your Catwoman choice.
- Anyone who has watched Hannibal thinks Michael would be a fantastic Joker.
- I'm iffy on your Harley choice.
- I think Andrew would be a decent Harvey.
- I like your Black Mask, not too big on your Pengiun.
- Eddie would be perfect as Riddler.
- Great Ivy, Decent Scarecrow.
- I can't get behind your Zsaz pick.
- Ok Red Hood.
- Great Hush. Overplayed Deadshot.
- Jude Law would rock as Onomatopoeia
- I hate your Ducard pick, doesn't fit too me.
- I'd dig Someone like Brad as Deathstroke.
- Great Freeze!
- Kevin Grievoux seems like the internet's only choice for Croc.
- Knepper is awesome.
- Liev would rock that role!
- I guess I have to be for your Al Ghul's picks, but they could be better.
- You could find a better Bane.
Not a terrible cast. Good work, still would like to know who you want as a writer or composer.

Thanks; glad you like those choices! Got to say though, DeMunn is a great actor, but Gordon seems like a bit of a strange fit even then, not quite sure how Darabont would cast if it came to it, but DeMunn is someone I kind of see as being an 'American Alfred'.

Gagnon would definitely be very cool; I could see him doing great, never considered him though...

Understandable, but she just reminds me a lot of the incarnation of the character as seen in Hush, mainly just due to her on-screen personas, and because of that very subtle natural sexiness she just gives off in interviews, etc.

Lol, it is an appreciated view fortunately/unfortunately.

She's relatively overlooked, but again from her on-screen personas and just naturally bubbly nature, I think she'd play the part very similarly to the character's original DCAU incarnation, albiet more refined.

Paul admittedly was a bit of a wildcard but his later work in Breaking Bad in particularly made me think he'd shine; I personally never saw Zsasz as too physical an opponent for Batman, more somone dangerous like the Joker in terms of physicality.

Tarabay's later work in Spartacus really sold me on him in the role; he can definitely play manipulative and conniving as the character requires, plus pretty much is a deadringer for the character too- he'd just need to go bald.

Anyway, glad you like the bulk of the cast- as for composers and writers, admittedly I'm not too knowledgable in that sense, so just stuck to the director given the pretty much determine the overall take of a film.
