This whole WTF month just screams of DC going "hey over here look at what where doing". I wish DC would just stop with there editorial mandates, only quesada can outdo them in that department at the moment.

Well... yes. That is the purpose of covers in general and how new readers are generated. And by Quesada you mean Axel Alonso, you'd be correct. For better or worse, Alonso took over as EiC awhile ago, with Quesada taking the equivalent of what Geoff Johns does at DCE (Chief Creative Officer- which essentially means he shills franchise merch licenses across different media and gets paid to do Ultimate Spider-Man bumper spots for fun).

DC's WTF. As in what the [frick] am I doing still buying this crap. DC suck big fat monkey balls. By the end of the year I full expect to be done with them completely. 30 years comic collecting down the shitter. Just think if I knew then what I know now, I could have had a life and not bothered with any of it. Oh God that's depressing. Where's my gun?.....

You guys are too young to remember Dc Comics covers in the seventies aren't ya? I actually now try to grab five or so of those covers when I go to conventions. Virtually every Neal Adams Superman cover could be classified wtf?

@GarthRanzz

Nope. the Flash, Suicide Squad and Batwing (not pictured here) covers particularly made me go over all nostalgic inside.

I just recently read Stormwatch and was surprised at how bad it was. I don't like what they've done with it and really think that it's best for the DC Universe if they cancel it and pretend it never happened. Maybe they can end it with a portion of time unwinding or something that will allow some of the characters to come back later when they can be written well.

@TerminalVoyd I think you've misinterpreted what I said. I wasn't talking about the covers I was talking about WTF month. The covers are fine for what there worth but this whole WTF month is borderline insulting, it seems to me like a desperate move from DC on there part. And I do know alonso is the EIC, have known from the second it was announced. When i referred to quesada I was talking about his time as EIC and the things he done I.e. one more day.

TerminalVoyd - 3/16/2013, 11:23 PM
I don't think playing a fun, classic retro card with their character rebrand for a single month's worth of issues smacks of desperation at all. It's a cover event, which is hardly comparable to a character redefining, massive retcon-filled event like One More Day, let alone what Joe Q. wound up doing to it at the 11th hour.

I can understand you're not a fan of it, but you're laying the hyperbole on a little thick.

Beneath these covers there are more then just pages. Beneath these covers, there is an idea, Mr. Dc Haters. And Ideas are bulletproof.
