Rumor: Ben Affleck in the running to direct Fantastic Four?

The Town and Gone Baby Gone director might direct the FF movie...

With the Town getting such good reviews I heard someone say that Ben Affleck has entered the running to direct the Fantastic Four reboot. I personly think that he is a shitty actor but a great director.

I think he would be a good candidate because Joe Carnahan might make it to similar to the previous series and I don't want this movie to be crap. The other guy who is in the running might be good but I haven't watched any of his movies. Let's just hope he is not cast as Mr. Fantastic.

well i hope it turns out to have a great story and adrien brody as mr. fantastic. i think brody could bring something to that character that was missing and more people would connect with brody as the leader of the four.

I thought he put an excellent performance in Changing Lanes so calling him a 'sh!tty' actor is more than a bit harsh.

I wouldn't call him a shitty actor, I don't believe he's as good as his brother Casey (ie. The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford or The Killer Inside Me) but he's put on some good performances as well (Chasing Amy, Changing Lanes, Extract or, my favorite, Hollywoodland) but he's definitely a better director than he is an actor.

I wouldn't put too much stock in this anyways, I think Ben felt burned by Daredevil and won't be interested in doing anything else in the CBM genre.

Tea, lmao.

Yes, I'm afraid we will need a bit more than "I heard someone say".

Affleck: Can be half decent/borderline good actor, usually isn't. I haven't seen The Town yet but Gone Baby Gone showed his directing chops.

I've got no problem with AFFLECK!

He's a huge comic book fan too, so I say all the power to him, maybe FOX will crank a good FF movie out tho you need January Jones in this FOX not X-MEN: FIST ASS! : P

haha that would be funny
@LEEE imagine if they have January Jones on FOX FF REBOOT! if that fails, and then someday the franchise goes back to MARVEL we will never see her on that :(

Affleck is quite talented as an actor, and director. I think it sucks that his long over swing with J.Lo put him in such a tailspin. People are more interested in his damn personal life than his acting. He could have been much bigger as an actor. Both him and Lopez have never been the same after that debacle.

You heard someone say?!? What the %$#@! does that mean? Jesus, what a stupid %$#@! piece of sh*t. Seriously, why waste our time.

You know what I heard? That you suck balls. Sorry man, I'm tired of BS rumors that people "hear" when they fart something that sounds like pfffntastic pffffrrrr coming out of their distended anuses (ani?).

%$#@!ing shut the $#@! up.

The Town looks good so might be a good idea, I'd prefer him over the Twilight director

Needless to say the source is a bit "lacking," but I'd actually be OK with him as director. He's proven himself to be a very capable director and a decent actor.

Now that we have the approval of ecksmanfan, the project can move forward.

I like him as a director but I'd rather see him take on something in darker territory. I would have loved for him to direct a FAITHFUL Green Hornet movie and he could have had Jon Hamm play Britt Reid. But IDK about him for F4

Affleck is an Oscar winner so any negative feedback regarding his acting ability should be taken with a grain of salt! Not always is poor acting the result of an actor but more related to what's happening behind the camera (i.e. the director, the vibe on the set, etc.). Affleck deserves respect, and his directing prowess is proving to be praiseworthy! I think he'd be a great and fresh choice to reboot the FF.
