Could The FANTASTIC FOUR Return To Marvel Studios? Kevin Feige Provides An Answer

Following the critical and commercial failure of 2015's Fantastic Four movie, fans have been hoping and praying that Reed Richards and company might return to Marvel Studios. Is it going to happen, though?

When Marvel Studios put up four mystery statues at D23 this week, many fans wondered if they were about to unveil the costumes that would be worn by an all-new Fantastic Four. After all, the 2015 reboot starring the iconic heroes was a complete and utter flop, so Twentieth Century Fox giving up on the property would make sense. Well, guess again because they're holding on to them for dear life!

"I’ve been at Marvel for 17 years," Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said, pausing for a moment before confirming that the foursome definitely won't be joining the ranks of the Marvel Cinematic Universe at any time in the near future. "There are certainly no plans whatsoever for that. But too many amazing things have happened over the past 17 years for me ever say never. But for now, nothing." That's about as definitive as you can get but don't fret too much as there may be hope yet.

"There’s a chance that aliens could come down from the sky right now," Feige countered. "And we’ll use them in the movie in to save money on visual effects." Er, perhaps it is time to give up hope!

Rumour has it that Fox is working on a family orientated Fantastic Four movie which will take place from the perspective of Franklin and Valeria Richards so a Marvel Studios reboot is probably out of the question. Stranger things have definitely happened, though, so perhaps we'd best just wait and see.

@DeathSeal - they're hot and cold, when they are hot it's still not quite right. First Class, DOFP, and Logan worked for me. I still have plenty of complaints, F4 really is a film property im not willing to give them another chance with. Even their best X films leave little to be desired.

Logan was good, still felt held back by the past films and the third act was crap. The daddy moment was Foxs Martha moment. That part wasn't earned at all. The girl was the best part. I also liked the X/Logan/Caliban odd couple scenes.

By the time they come out with a F4 movie, these comic films will be in decline and Marvel will be the golden standard. These other film studios have other movies for their bread and butter, Marvel has everything riding on comic properties.

If Kinberg really is directing the new X- films, I'm done with him, he's trash. He might as well be Avi Arad. Simon Kinberg is the dude who is banging your mom after she kicked your dad out, and Kinberg is going through all of your dads notebooks changing crap around, believing that he has every right to be doing what he's doing, but wait til the old man gets the final say.

Fox and Universal can go F themselves. Thinking that keeping pieces from the MCU puzzle will be a blow to Marvel. Marvel can turn B-listers to superstars. The only ones they are hurting are the fans.

I WANT TO SEE BEN GRIMM ARRANGING POKER NIGHTS IN THE MCU!!!!!!!
