Michael B. Jordan Officially Signed On To Play 'Johnny Storm' In FANTASTIC FOUR?

That's what our pals over at Schmoes Know are hearing anyway. They cite a very reliable source who's revealed to them that the Chronicle actor, long rumored to be up for the part, has officially signed on to play the Human Torch in Josh Trank's reboot..

It seems Michael B. Jordan will be "flaming on" as our new Human Torch after all, as the guys over at The Schmoes Know Movies Podcast have exclusively revealed. According to them "a very trusted source within Michael B Jordan’s agency" has confirmed to them that he has just signed on the dotted line, and will play Johnny Storm in Josh Trank's reboot of the Fantastic Four. The young actor has been highly in demand since his turn in Fruitvale Station, and was rumored to be up for quite a few different roles -- one in Star Wars Episode VII among them. Of course we can't post this as 100% accurate until it's confirmed by the studio, but we know the Schmoes have good intel so I'd bet on this popping up in the trades pretty soon..maybe even later on tonight.

sigh...because of Michael B Jordan. Dude's a good actor and I would like to see him in a comic role or in other movies. But he does not fit Johnny Storm. Race is an issue, not because I care, but because the character is white and he has a white sister. It just doesn't work.

Also, I really wish this movie wouldn't happen so that Marvel can get the rights back.

I'm not racist, I'm just a fan of Fantastic Four. He shouldn't be black. Nor adopted or anything of the sort. That's like making Shaft or Black Panther an Asian dude. It's just so far left field and asinine. [frick] this movie.

Really, what the hell Marvel with all this propaganda stuff. It shouldn't be a damn film where you have to question racial issues I just came to see a movie about four super powered people! Unless they make Sue Storm black just no to Johnny Storm. They are supposed to be brother and sister we are actually supposed to feel a real emotional connection between them. For the sake of comics the 2005 Fantastic Four movie is already starting to sound more accurate. The only character I would be fine with this change would be The Thing. Not the good ole wise cracking Johnny Storm. Plus the last Fantastic Four film wan't too long ago, didn't they think the audience would question this. They better change it and right now.

I have nothing against him but I hate him as the Human Torch. I see him more like Alex Wilder from the Runaways. I so want a Runaways movie but I don't think I ever will. I hope they make the invisible girl black too then.

I don't get why Hollywood likes changing the ethnicity of people in movies. They do it in so many movies like Avatar: The Last Airbender. Now Gods of Egypt & this one. What is so wrong with sticking with the original concept.

Yes people. Fox still has the rights to the Fantastic Four and this movie is being made. I'm mad about it too, but bitching on the internet isn't gonna get the rights back to Marvel. Mine as well accept the fact that Fox is gonna cling to their Marvel properties as long as they can.

They are not going to let this revert back to Marvel. Fox and Sony are going to hold their titles hostage for as long as they can, which sucks for Marvel Studios and fans.

This is another example of race propaganda happening once again in comic book films. Why can't they just keep the original don't fix what was not broken. He is a recognizable main character not only in film but appearances in television and tons of comics. This is going to confuse a lot of people and not just the main general audience.
