As Zack Snyder's epic "Sucker Punch" hits theaters today, the reviews throughout have been mixed. However, it was the review by one Sandy Kenyon seems to be a little too harsh. He begins the review by saying that he "despises" the film. Throughout the review, he briefly touches on the plot, by saying the film is not like woman empowerment like advertised but instead is a film based around women getting beat up.He goes on to call the film "garbage," the acting "bad" and other generic criques. However, what makes this review so interesting is that half of the review is Kenyon questioning the MPAA and its PG-13 rating and that the film is so immoral that it will warp the minds of any young viewers and that parents should be warned. Kenyon also cites another critic who called for the Director's Guild to revoke Zack Snyder's membership.
So why report on this review, you ask? Because it seems unjust. Sandy Kenyon seems like he doesnt understand that all of the glorified violence and dumb cliches are all in the protagonists mind. He also doesnt seem to understand that violence towards women, while tragic, shouldnt justify an R rating or is something to "hide our children from". Ive personally seen the film, and I think Zack Snyder should sucker punch Sandy Kenyon
