It's been confirmed that quite a few of the actors who starred in the original
Lord of the Rings trilogy will be reprising their roles when
The Hobbit starts shooting this winter. Well, here's what Elijah Wood had to say when he spoke to The Hollywood Reporter:
"(Ian) McKellen is back, Cate Blanchett is back, Andy Serkis, and Orlando (Bloom)... It's going to be like going back in time."
When asked who else might be joining the cast, Wood answered that he didn't know and said
"I haven't even read the script." However, what he
does know is that he's needed on set in February and that his part will indeed only be a small one (which makes sense as Frodo doesn't
actually appear in the novel).
Finally, commenting on faithfulness to the book, he said:
"There only would have been reservation about taking the part if there had been something that had infringed upon the integrity of the original book.... But that was never going to be the case."
"The Hobbit, Part 1" hits theaters 19th December 2012!
