After an announcement from the studio to move the Hobbit to a new area for filming, It added to the long list of problems the movie has gone through over the past few months. With problems such as the original director leaving, a boycott, and just to many more to list, Nobody knows what could possibly be next for this film.

Now the relatively small country, who got their glorious moment with the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy are trying to keep the film where it is. After money from tourism the Lord Of The Rings attracted, the country is wanting more. Many big politicians in the country are campaigning to keep the Hobbit films in the country.

They even made video to help the rally gain support:

I love it when politicians rally, but they really should get professionals in. Ken Block should be available.

Well...looking by another angle, its a good opportunity to the studios dictate its demands. Something like "hey fellas...ure not getting the big picture here...It's OUR way or the HIGHWAY."

Cake.

I haven't followed the turmoil surrounding the movie fully, but it seems like the majority of the issues caused externally are things that can directly be addressed by the Kiwi government. They should just make it easier for the studio instead of just trying to tug at heart strings like that.
