Here are my thoughts on the latest trailer.

I just finished watching the newest released trailer for G.I Joe: Retaliation, the sequel to 2009's G.I Joe: The Rise of Cobra. To be honest, I really wasn't impressed. It was cool and all, and the story seemed stronger than first presented to us, but they didn't show alot of anything new in the trailer, at least to me. It just showed us the same trailer with a couple of new scenes in my opinion. It didn't get me as excited for the new film as I was hoping for, here I will list what I thought was good and what has me excited for the film.

1: Well it has been confirmed basically through the latest trailer the Duke does indeed die in this film. Which to me I find interesting where they'll take the Roadblock character in this film. It also brings me to my favorite part of the trailer in a arguement between Flint and Roadblock where Roadblock says "I wasn't gonna bury anymore Joes!" To me it's an intense part of the trailer and definately gonna be an intense part of the film and the trailer get's me excited and interested in what's going to happen as the characters progress from there and how the cope (I doubt I spelled that right.) With the losses that they've suffered.

2: We get an extended part of the fight on the mountain between a bunch of Cobra ninjas vs. Jinx and Snake Eyes. It was a very cool scene and probably one of the better action scenes of the film.

3: Another part of the trailer that really got me excited but for the trailer as a whole leaving me disappointed was when a city literally just starts exploding like it's the end of the world (exaggeration.) It's gonna be the highlight of the film like in the first film where the Eiffel Tower falls. It's a very interesting part of the trailer and in all honesty, it's clear that, that will be a very important part of the film.

Final thoughts: I know I only listed three things, but in reality there wasn't much in the trailer to be excited for. I know it was a theatrical trailer so therefore it was more story focused and less on the action but something new could've been nice. I am gonna get alot of hate for this but I really like Channing Tatum and I think he is a great actor and made a great Duke and I am really sad that their killing him off in this film. Pretty much their explanation for where are all the Joes from movie 1 is well, we decided to kill all but one Joe and a couple of Cobra characters and the rest are new characters. Again, the story is presented in a much stronger and more intesne and exciting form than what we have seen or heard. Overall this film isn't nor has it ever been in my top 10 movies to see this year, but I am gonna give it a shot with the intense story and the look of the film. It looks to POSSIBLY outdo it's predecessor in the drama and story and possibly the action. The trailer does not have me anymore excited than when they first announced the trailer but I hope that many of you enjoyed it and are looking forward to it as well as it's getting my money.

Whatya think of the new trailer? Comment below.

I'm confused

" It didn't get me as excited for the new film as I was hoping for"

First point-
"To me it's an intense part of the trailer and definately gonna be an intense part of the film and the trailer get's me excited"

Second point -
" Another part of the trailer that really got me excited"

"Final thoughts: I know I only listed three things, but in reality there wasn't much in the trailer to be excited for"

I don't know if you're excited for the movie or not :/

To be honest, this really seems like you're more excited for the movie than your opening paragraph let on. It's a nice write up, but the things you talk about kind of contradict the fact that you said that it didn't impress you or get you as excited as you were hoping. You seem, in the way that your writing about it, that you're pretty hyped for the film. I myself enjoyed the trailer and can't wait to see it. Cheers!

I apologize for the mislead. I meant that there were parts of the trailer that were excited and did excite me. But overall there wasn't really much to get excited about and that although I'll be seeing it in the theater, it didn't deliver as I was hoping for.

I'm sorry but what? It excited you but didn't deliver what you were hoping for?

If it excited you, the trailer did it's job.

@WesleyGibson: I think my problem is I think of my wording as I type out my sentences but I don't say it out loud to make sure it sounds right before I post.

Nice editorial.
Trailer's can be misleading as we all know, but I got a good feeling about this one.

The 1st one was entertaining IMO.

I'm not all too hyped for this movie.
Mainly because of the first film bewildering success. I will say this however, with Stephen Sommers out of the way, I'm betting on this sequel to be moderately better.

Headlopper's right. Trailers can be misleading. Take GL for instance-the trailer made it seem like it was gonna be a phenomenal movie, but in the end it turned out to be an average cbm. My point is that I think it'll be slightly better than the first, but it'll be nothing special.
