The CW's Arrow may be departing from any particular Green Arrow comic story-lines, but they are certainly dipping into the cast of characters that appear on the page. The latest is Walter Steele, who in the comics is CEO of Queen Industries. He seems to be playing a similar role in the show.

According to Variety..

Salmon will play Walter Steele, a former business associate of the late Robert Queen and the No. 2 executive at Queen Consolidated. He married Moira Queen following her husband's death at sea and the disappearance of her son, Oliver.

Salmon can be seen on the big screen soon in Resident Evil: Retribution, but he is probably most familiar to CBMers for his role in Punisher Warzone. He has also popped up in the likes of Alien VS Predator, Blood: The Last Vampire and all three of Pierce Brosnan's James Bond movies.

I'm calling it right now. He's going to be a villain.

You have a character who married his boss' wife after he and his son disappeared and took the second highest position at the company. And now the son returns, who was in line to take over the company and your position/authority.

And they get a big, intimidating guy like Salmon to play.Yep, that's a villain in the making.

Shame they discontinued his character after Pierce Brosnan stopped being James Bond.

how will this show distinguish itself from Smallville and the other CW teen melodramadies. CW is stuffed with teen fodder this watered down Green Arrow won't stand out. I for one want good action packed series. If I have to watch another show with soapy subplots, I'm turning the channel.
