If this Green Arrow movie comes into being, why is there no Black Canary?

Green Arrow comics have always interested me, ever since i read Long Bow Hunters, so where is Black Canary?

This upcoming Green Arrow film Supermax, sounds more like a really bad action flick. with some villains with speacial powers mixed in, and one of the more interesting DC characters put at the head of the film just to get fans to go to it.

Why isn't this film being taken in a more serious direction? Green Arrow is called a second string hero, well, that's because no one has taken the time to put him in the front. Instead, he remains behind Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. The Supermax film will not help the character become a popular charater, instead, it may just push him farther back into people's minds.

If they really wanted to make a good Green Arrow film it would have to involve the Black Canary, the Green Arrow's one true leading lady. She's tough, she's smart, and she's incredibly beautiful. What more could a studio ask for in a character? With Black Canary by his side the story would have the romance (which ladies really like) but it also would add more to the character's relationships. The tension, the loyalty, the anger. That would be more of a film that i would want to watch. A film that actually explores the character, before watching the emerald archer sling arrows at people's heads.

Green Arrow is a second string hero because he has nothing to offer the masses. Supermax will blow because it has no purpose, it will have the same effect as Punisher: War Zone. I've said it too many times, the small part he has in Smallville is not enough to make him interesting to the point where he will succeed on the big screen. He needed his own tv show just like Flash did in the 80's. Then he'd have the popularity needed for the box office. The very character of Green Arrow has no depth compared to Batman and no super power to compansate. A modern day Robin Hood does not sell. And for that matter, Black Canary is to Huntress what Green Arrow is to Batman... which is insignificant. But i am not against your idea of putting them together in a movie, it would bring more depth to both their storyline and might give us something to hope for in upcoming projects. But even so, they shouldn't expect more than 150 million in it's entire run. It will probably come in 5th place on it's first weekend with a little over 10 million. If they are smart and they watch the cost of production very well, they might just rake in enough profit for a sequel but IMO, it will be the last. His next apparition might be in JLA.

I feel a GA & BC pic would be a gamble on the same level as the proposed Ant Man and Wasp. Theres just not enough push for it.

I admit the Supermax plot would be better than a GA origin story.

GREEN ARROW COULD BE PLAYED BY JOSH HOLLOWAY
AND BLACK CANARY COULD BE PLAYED BY Lori Loughlin

I think Supermax,or Green Arrow, or whatever they are going to call it is a really good idea. GA is one of my favorites, so I'm a bit biased. However, this won't be just a Ollie Queen movie. It will showcase a bunch of DC villians as well. Ollie gets framed and ends up in prison surrounded by criminals, some of whom he put there. Great idea. Of course, they could substitute GA with just about any superhero. But since GA is a nonpowered super-guy, the tension level jumps up a bit.

Having said all that, they should add Black Canary to the mix, and not just because she wears the fishnet stockings!(hubba-hubba)

The Canary has always been shown to be a strong character, all the way back to her golden age origins when she was setting ol' Larry Lance straight. Where Ollie is hot headed and brash, Dinah is collected and straight forward. She is a great levelling influence on GA. Maybe they could have BC working on the outside to set Ollie free while GA is inside fighting for his life?

Oh, and Shaman, Robin Hood stories always sell. That's why we still have the character in our collective counciousness after 700 years. As long as there's a distrust of power, there will be a market for Robin Hood/Green Arrow.

Side note: While I think the Supermax idea will make a good movie, personally, I'd like to see a Green Arrow/Green Lantern team up movie. Imagine "Easy Rider" without the shotgun ending.......

sorry raimdogg but Lori Loughlin seems a little too old for me...i would rather see her in a pant suit playing Hillary Clinton not in tight leather and fishnets.

But I definitely agree with Josh Holloway (I love him in Lost and still believe he would make a better Gambit then the Kitsch guy playing him now.)
