Those darn "creative differences" seem to have infested Hollywood. Somebody call an exterminator!
Chow had signed on in September and was supposed to do dual duty as the director and as Kato.
Earlier we learned from writer/star Seth Rogen, who leads in the movie as
The Green Hornet himself, that Chow was trying to take the project to a more comedic place--where Rogen had earlier told fanboys he wouldn't go. The actor had even appeared a little thinner and 'buff'er on Late Night with David Letterman, relaying how seriously he was taking the role.
Whether this was the reasoning behind chopping off Chow's directorship is not known.
Now the studio is "hustling" to find another leader in order to begin production in spring 2009.
