"They were worried about it,” Reynolds said backstage Thursday at CinemaCon, where new footage of the summer release was unveiled.
“I think people should have their opinions. Fanboys are known to have a very loud voice. They’re known to beat their chest hard when they like or dislike something, and that’s all part of the game. I know, because I was an integral part of the shooting process, that the movie is not a comedy at all. There’s definitely a few funny moments in it. The levity is really kind of more in a Han Solo kind of vein than anything broader.
You are quite exposed. You’re putting yourself out there on the rounds,” he said of taking on the leading role in a major studio tent pole. “And the push is just gonna be astronomical for this. It’s kind of exciting.”

He continues:
“A movie like this, you can’t even really get a script when you meet with the director. You have to base your decision solely on concept art and what their objectives are,” he said. “For me, what sold me was the space epic. The idea of doing a superhero movie particularly in a summer particularly crowded with superhero films – it’s not really necessarily appealing to watch a guy earthbound. For me, it wasn’t. I love the space idea. The idea that it’s kind of like ‘Star Wars.’ I just knew that it would encompass so much ingenuity, creating a whole other world.”

About Justice League:
“That’s a whole other conversation. That’s a whole business model and nothing to do with me at all,” he said. “No one has ever approached me about doing a ‘Justice League’ movie. We’ll see if they do it in the long run.”

I am getting more and more excited about this film every second! Let's hope we get to see some of that incredible footage real soon!

Thank you reynolds. Oh and if Reynolds is reading this *which I doubt* then I'm really sorry for what I said to you a couple months ago. I'm not that crazy, I was just cought up in the moment. Sorry.

Back on the topic of GL: I wanna see the 2nd damn trailer! DX

obviously its not a comedy, and I don't see the problem with having comedic moments here and there. If you think this is a comedy then you'll probably think Thor's a comedy too, which its not. People need to stop judging a movie from a couple of lines.

@charbekenasr- They've announced a Justice League movie before and then canceled it... So that might be what he's talking about. :F

Everything he said was awesome. And I just get more excited for this movie each day! :D

If he said it was not a comedy, then why did WB make the first trailer seem that way?

it will only be blake lively's acting that'll make you laugh.

it better not have the amount of comedy the green hornet had, that ruined that film.

iron man level of comedy will be alright.

Great news, but this was never a problem for me. Just because it has some "funny" moments doesn't mean it's gonna suck, if that's the case Thor & Cap will suck too (can't believe I said that)...

Heck, even the Dark Knight had a bit of "funny" moments. Lighten up people! This movie, Cap and Thor will all kick major ass this year! :D

I agree that a little comedy is fine and I am looking forward to the movie. Let's just hope it isn't like Wayans saying that G.I. Joe wasn't him just telling jokes... Which it was...

Keeping score here:

1. Chris Nolan isn't having any crossovers with his Batman.
2. Both Geoff Johns and Diane Nelson say that the DC heroes will be getting individual treatments, and that they're not copying Marvel's crossover approach.
3. Berlanti, Guggenheim, and Green have been writing screenplays for The Flash and Green Lantern 2 since last summer. The most logical release dates for those movies would probably be around 2013.
4. Snyder says his Superman won't have anything to do with this supposed Justice League movie coming out the following year.
5. AND, now Ryan Reynolds is saying that he hasn't even been approached about this huge project, due to be released in just two years...

...is there any doubt that Jeff Robinov was just talking out of his ass about 'Justice League 2013'?
