Let's get right to it.
Very few video games that are rooted in a summer blockbuster live up to any sort of expectation.
The graphics in Rise of the Manhunters are good, but I felt like when I was watching various cutscenes, the characters lacked showing any expressions when speaking and some of the dialogue ran together a little bit. It reminded me of, coincedentally, the Rise of the Silver Surfer tie-in game.
Ryan Reynolds lends his voice and likeness to his in-game superhero counterpart. The other voice actors do a decent enough job portraying the various other Lanterns and characters in the game, such as Queen Aga'Po, Kilowog, and Sinestro.

The gameplay is a little frustrating. I often found myself shouting at my 360 controller because I was dead certain I pressed the jump button before I got caught in a radial trap. The characters seem to stick every once in a while and it's no fun getting overwhelmed by enemies with a very limited supply of Willpower.
With the negatives, there are always positives. Namely, the plethora of light constructs you're able to purchase and utilize in battle. A baseball bat, gatling gun, missile launchers, mines, and a blade whip are just to name a few of the many weapons constructed by your ring to help you down as many foes as you can. There's also a combo meter as well as long ranged ring attacks and light/heavy attacks.
Downside is there isn't really the ability to fly unless you're standing on a Lantern Logo where you have to press a button to get to the next area.
Not giving too much away, but they seem to be playing in to the other Lanterns as well, as I came across a few Blue Meteorites filled with Hope power, greatly increasing my health bar.
My verdict: I say rent it before buying. If you decide you can't have your collection without this game, go for it.
Also, for PS3 and 360 owners, there's the option of 3D gameplay.
Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters is set for release on all platforms June 7th.
