Disney+ Day is one week away and the hope is Marvel Studios will have lots of big reveals about the TV shows they're planning to release throughout the Multiverse Saga.
Many of those were already mentioned at Comic-Con, but it was also apparent that Kevin Feige was holding back on us. To begin with, there was zero mention of the untitled Halloween Special starring Werewolf by Night or The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, both of which are expected to hit the streamer before 2022 ends.
Today, promo art for the latter has appeared online and offers a few telling clues about what to expect from the spinoff shot during Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3's production. Along with some Christmas-themed title treatments, we see Mantis hugging a giant candy cane and an alien we're currently unable to identify (let us know if you have any theories in the comments section).
There's also a quote from a character saying, "I don't know what Christmas is, but Christmas time is here!" That sounds like Mantis to us.
However, most telling might be artwork showing the fallen Yondu along with "Yondu ruined Christmas." How much would you like to bet that he stopped the young Peter Quill from celebrating the Holiday season, prompting the present-day Star-Lord to make up for all those years he didn't get to have a traditional Earth Christmas?
A trailer for The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will hopefully be released on Disney+ Day along with a premiere date. December 25 has a certain appeal to it, though Marvel Studios may choose to drop it a tad sooner that month.
