The MCU is imcomplete without Fantastic Four, Sliver Surfer & Nova

Why Marvel needs the Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer & Nova in the MCU to fulfill it's potential.

Marvel and Disney are certainly riding high this past year with the success of Avengers. They've definitely milked and will continue to milk all the worth out of the characters the great Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko created which is what we want. But the characters currently in the within the MCU are enough tell a great story in an movie but is it the eventful movie that fans deserve. The reason I say that is their are other characters that are important in the Marvel universe that the MCU need to fulfill it's true potential, those characters being the Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer and Nova. I'm pretty sure a Nova movie or cameo is coming in the near future with Guardians of the Galaxy on the horizon due to his connection to the Guardians. It's no coincidence that Marvel Studios tried to strike a deal with Fox to allow them to be able to use Silver Surfer and Galactus in the MCU in exchange for an extension to get an Daredevil movie up and running. Kevin Feige can downplay the fact that other studios own the movie rights to Marvel properties but he know the MCU roster is incomplete.

Richard Rider better known as Nova, an member of the intergalactic peacekeeping force Nova Corps, he is one of Marvel's most cosmically powerful superheroes and is an essential part of both the Infinity Gauntlet and Thanos Imperative story arcs. Nova occasionally teams with the Guardians of the Galaxy and we know the history between that of Thanos and the GOTG. It seems that the GOTG movie with be somewhat inspired from some of the events from the Thanos Imperative storyline so why not throw Nova into the mix, they will need a powerful ally out of this world to help take down the Mad Titan.

Marvel Studios will need The Fantastic Four in order to introduce Norrin Radd a.k.a Silver Surfer and Galactus into the mix of the MCU. The big bad villain the Avengers will takek on is Thanos and it is through Thanos that Silver Surfer learns how Galactus altered his soul for him to become his herald. Silver Surfer also play a major role in the Infinity Gauntlet story arc, he is the one that warns the Avengers of the threat that is the Thanos. At one point the Silver Surfer takes it upon himself using his power cosmic to take on the Mad Titan toe to toe by himself. For now the Infinity Gauntlet is locked up tight in Odin's Vault as we saw in Thor so who know when Thanos will get his hands on it.

And that leaves me to the devourer of worlds Galatctus. Fans are waiting for the day that Galactus is properly portrayed on the big screen unlike that lame cloud depiction of him in Rise of the Silver Surfer. Yes we love to see our heroes do battle against our favorite villains but why not have Galactus vs Thanos in a movie based off of The Infinity Gauntlet story arc.

Marvel already has Nova, its only a matter of time before he shows up. Like the article says, he may even pop up in GOTG.

I agree though, the cosmic MCU will just seem less of what it should be without Galactus and SS. They are such important players in the cosmic MU that it will feel weird without them.

By the way, Nova was in The Infinity Gauntlet story, sure. But he played such a little role that its not like he would be missed from a movie adaptation. He was one of those characters that you just saw in the background every now and then when the artist remembered to draw him in.

How often does Galactus and the Silver Surfer come to Earth?

This sounds like a collectable, something to read/watch once, put on your shelf, and have it just to have it.

I really hope Fox falls on its ass with the Fantastic Four. They really need to be with Marvel Studios. I could give a two-shits concern what they do with the X-Men at this point.

But I agree, Galactus and Silver Surfer are vital to the cosmicverse of the MU, and that needs to be shown in the movies.

The problem is that i think Fox is going to get this version of the FF right. Trank is a solid director and they absolutely ppayed attention to the Avengers success and are very aware of the potential cash cow that a GOOD FF movie can be. Our only real hope is that A. Disney buys the rights back, realising that with the FF in the mcu (SS and Galactus) they will be able to make another billion. Option B. Is that Fox and Marvel see the value in working within each others universe, expandin the story and the audiance and really going for broke at the box office. its absolutely doable and both companies have people in charge that have a history of working with each other. Theres no way that the oppertunity to have just monster, repeated box office success isnt lost on them. We can only hope at this point.

@Intruder: He's referring to Silver Surfer III #51. The Infinity Gauntlet had tons of crossovers in a bunch of Marvel Comics at the time, in addition to the main titles.
